Question about 1998 Jeep Cherokee

Power window does not work;back passenger side

I let the back window down and it would not go back up. It would continue to go down from the back door switch, but not up. It would not move either way from the main driver's door panel. Now it is not moving at all. Also the little green lcd lite in the middle of the switch is no longer glowing like the other back door on the driver's side. Also, that door only open periodically when I press the switch either on the door itself or the driver's panel. Right now, it not moving either, but since it is up, not a major problem. Is there any way I can the other door up with the power switch. I live in the South and it was a 100 degrees today not to mention mosquitoes getting in the vehicle. I do not hear any type of motor sound. I took the back door panel off but could not figure out how to get the window back up. Thanks.

I have the EXACT same problem. If you found a solution could you possible reply to this? I tested everything there was to test, cleaned and disassembled switches, etc and could not fix it.

I have a 1994 Toyota Camry and the power window on the passenger side has gone down, under power. Then nothing would happen when I would pulled up on the switch on the driver side main switch and the also...

more than likely one of the switches are bad (down side of switch works but up side of switch dont) being as the switches are wired together if one goes bad other one won't work either take the switch out one of back doors should be same as front passenger door put rear switch in front passenger door if works then u know front door switch is bad if it doesn't then drivers door switch is bad
u replaced window regulator Did that come with motor too??? if not check to see if motor is good
there is two wires going to motor cut isolation back on wires and using some jumper wires attach one wire to positive terminal of a 12 volt battery attach other wire to negative terminal of battery window should move up or down reverse connections and window should move other way

The right window doesn't go down?

you can take the door pannel off and unplug the wiring to the window motor. take a test light and check for power wile you try to roll the window down.if you have power and a good ground going to it then you have a bad window motor. you can pick up a window regulator and motor at any local junk yard for a lot less than the parts store or the dealer

2003 Buick Century - window problem

I've had a similar problem with my 2003 Buick Century. In my case, the driver's side front window one day went up and would not come down. I knew that the switch was malfunctioning by sticking in the up position since the window continued up despite the fact that Iet off the switch when the window was half way up and it continued going up. I had to pull over and pull the master switch assembly from the door panel and unplug it to prevent the window motor from being damaged by the constant power feeding it after the window was up. Basically, it would have burned the motor out. I cleaned the switch and it now works fine most of the time. I still need to replace the assembly. Not sure this is the reason in your case. I would check the back window and see if it goes down with the switch on the back door panel. If it does, then you are having problem with the master switch assembly on your front door panel. Moisture from rain from the window being down during rain or dirt may have corroded the switches' contacts.

Check the wiring between the drivers door and the A pillar(the body of the car). Sometimes the harness breaks from opening and closing the door.

1994 Jeep Cherokee Power Window Problem

When you open the drivers door you can see a wiring harness between the door and the body of the car.
You more than likely have wires broken in there.
