I have a 2004 ford taurus, and lately the power seems to be out of whack. I can see the dome light, head lights, and dash lights all flicker. This seems to be all the time now. It's like they are flashing. What could it be? Also, I have never had the transmission fluid serviced. Can I do it now? I have had several advices.

Check your ground on the battery and the condition of the cables. Do a trans flush. Make sure its the machine that adds new and pulls out the old at the same time. Usually expensive 150 bucks. But gets out the most old trans fluid by far.

Power windows dome light trunk light

Check owners manual for your fuse box location. Remove and replace blown fuse. Normally located under driver side dash, passanger side dash or under your hood

Ford taurus tss 2004 map lights work but dome light wont come on

It is possible the bulb in the dome light is burnt out or there is a bad connection @ the bulb. That is at least where you start. you will need to remove the dome light cover & wiggle the bulb while the door is open, or best to have two doors open to remove the possibility of a faulty switch. If it still doesn't flicker or start to work remove the bulb & inspect it to see if the filament is broken. If you can't tell best to replace the bulb & try again.
Please advise if you need more help.

Flickering lights on 2004 gmc sierra. alternator changed

Hi J, The ground connections are on each of the units. that is to say there is one power feed to the dome and another to the instrument panel. From there each door is separately grounded via each of the door switches. If one is rusted, contaminated or damaged and not operating correctly, it will cause the dome light and the door warning on the instrument panel to flicker. regards John

Its a 2004 ford taurus lx i need to know how to remove the dome light

heres a good link with pictures to remove the dome light,, On Fords ,, gently pop off the lens, the rest is pretty easy ,, just be sure and keep the wires from touching ground, or you will pop the fuse , the mounting screws are what makes the ground for the light fixture anyway , heres the link http://www.rangerforum.net/f35/how-disassemble-mustang-taurus-dome-light-paint-1255/

2000 ford taurus wont start. When the key is turned I have no dash lights, or power to the accessories that run through the ignition. I changed the ignition switch today. Thank You Chris

Is your dome light coming on? do the power locks work?
Your battery may be dead, or you may have blown a main fuse (under the hood)

Dash lights out

Owners manual should tell you where the fuse box is, I can't remember off the top of my head but it may be under the dash on the drivers side, there is also a box under the hood but I don't think the dash light fuse would be under there.

If the fuse is good the dimmer on the dash could have gone bad.
