Question about 2000 Volkswagen Beetle

1 Answer

Radiator fan My daughter recently bought a 2000 model v.w. Beetle. One afternoon when she returned home she noticed that her fan was still running when she turned the car ignition off. As she was about to leave again several hours later, her batery was dead. You guessed it the fan stayed on untill the battery ran down. When I tried to boost it the fan still runs until I take the cables off. Can anyone tell me what I need to do? Thanks.

Radiator fans

I dont know what year model you have but the newer one will run when car is turned off to cool radiator. Maybe you have a radiator problem if this just started to happen. Is the car over heating. Did you check radiator fluid or thermostat. I dont know much about your car and year model but i would do these checks. Maybe radiator needs to be flushed. You can use aluminum brite for to flush. Can buy it at O Reiley's. I had to flush my daughters radiator about 10 times when we bought it used, fithy. Looks brand new. Please dispose of chemicals properly. It is an acid.

My 2001 beetle is over heating and abs light is on

first is there anti freeze in the radiator. How hot did it get? you can have a stuck thermostat or a bad water pump, and or a hole in one of the coolant hose. check and see if the radiator is full,if it is not add water, and start the car,and wait. about 5 minutes see if the upper radiator is soft when squeezed if it is then thermostat is ok ,but if it is hard to squeeze you have a stuck thermostat. if the that is ok . you may have a bad water pump or even a radiator fan not working

My radiator fan will not run.

For an electric fan check for a blown fuse, broken wire, or bad motor.

I have a question, is it normal for my 2000 Beetle turbo cooling fan to continue running for 10 minutes after shutting down the car? While the car is running, Is it normal for the fan to run for a count...

Yes. I have a 2006 Jetta and the cooling fan (the one on the radiator) runs after I shut my car off. It's to continue to disperse the heat and cool things off. No worries. I would watch it and make sure it does not become a problem tho.

What do you mean "check the radiator"? Does the radiator not work or only work every other day? You could have a clog in the cooling system and it might be smart to get it flushed out.
