Question about 1995 Saab 900

1 Answer

Code wire(s) I hope someone can solve a code wire connection problem Iam having. I had a transmission put in my car sometime ago and the mechnic told me that he had to disconnect the code wires under the dashbroad in order for the transmissiom to shift beyond 1st gear(Automatic). At the time I thought why would he need to do that? Anyway, the transmission shifts fine but the problem is after I had reinstalled a new battery I could not put the code in to get my radio to come back on again because where you key in the number for the radio code ( the 4 lines where you put the code)wouldn't come up. Then I remembered that the mechnic who replaced the transmission told me that he disconnected the wires under the dashboard.I went back to mechinc but now he is telling me to take it to another shop to have it reconnected for around $60.00. After explaining to at least 5 other repair shops what this mechnic had done. All of them kept telling me that what he did can't be done? rather then go on with this story, I hope someone here can tell me how I can go under the dashboard and at least reconnect the radio code wire ? Chaz

i have a 1996 saab 900s. i have a similar problem, after disconnecting all the wires from my stereo, when i re-connect i no longer have the 4 lines asking for the code. so i've just put in another stereo, but i'd rather have the origional back in. even the irish don't make things this complicated!!!!

Your vehicle has an electronic speedometer. Either the sensor is bad in the transmission, or you have a wiring problem.

You can try replacing the sensor, but I would test all the circuits first.... if you can find a wiring diagram.

Best advice i can offer is to ask a local mechanic to have a look for you ,i do have a workshop manual on DVD but not sure how to upload it,just found it its for the freelander not the range rover sorry here but iam sure a fresh face in the guise of a local older mechanic will put their head under it and wham bash bosh and it will all be connected again and then hunky dory again.

Check engine & exclamation point lights are

I believe the (!) Warning Light is your starter ignition light. But the check Engine Light coming on after just having a new motor put in. My suggestion is to take it back to the person who just put the motor in for you. Have them check all the wirings and make sure there are no cross connections. I had my engine rebuilt 5 yrs ago. And they told me that my transmission had a morning condition. It didn't like to work first thing in the morning especially during the Winter season. Also check all of your fuses.

I have a 2001 kia rio and my check engine light came on so i got it tested and the code was P0705 and the guy told me he didnt know what that meant ha so can someone help me is this a serious problem whats...

P0705....Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input) . probably means that that a plug may have come off or a wire got cut thus the circuit to the Park , Reverse, nuetral , Drive or Low had a "malfuntion". Ot it couldbe the sensor itself on the tranny.

Transmission Service Required 2001 Volvo S60 T5

Hi,

These cars had a few issues with the transmissions. Sometimes upgrading the software and flushing the transmission will help, sometimes a new valve body will fix the problem, but often the transmission will need replacement due to internal failure.

The first step is to have a shop read out all the fault codes, read all the service bulletins and tech notes from Volvo regarding the transmission problems and then make a decision based on all of that information.

Good Luck,

Bret

1999 Acura TL Problem

The problem is the ignition wiring harness, as described in the May 2002 Recall 02V120000. I tried to get Acura to replace it a second time (first time they replaced it was at 75K miles) with no success. Car started stalling/restarting again at 200K miles. I bought the part mentioned in the recall (~$70) and installed it myself - have not had a reoccurrence since.

Hyundai Accent 2001 (1,6 L) , does not start. HELP!!!

Problem solved. I had no choice, but to have the car towed to the
Hyundai dealer and at first they thought it was the ECM...
... (Because it had no sparks)
Which is very expensive, $800.00 in Canada...
But finally it was only the power relay of the ECM... $30.00... ouf!
Sometimes it can only be the ground wire, that goes into the car.

I'm posting this, so that if someone else has the same problem
maybe this will help you.

Have a nice day!
