At random intervals the temp gauge will go to below zero and the check engine light comes on, stay there for a period minutes to days then start working normally. And then the check engine ligjht goes out.

I too have the same problem. One day my temperature gauge will be working fine; and next thing I know the service Vehicle Soon light comes on and the temperature gauge drops to below 0. Does anyone know what could cause this?

Temp gauge on 1986 s-10 blazer 4x4 2.8 stays pegged on hot. on or off doesn't matter. i have replaced sender and sensor. any ideas?

If you replaced everything back to the guage itself, then it has to be the guage itself. I would try getting a replacement instrument cluster at a salvage yard.

I had a water leak on my 1996 GMC K1500 and ran hot. Fixed problem truck running good, but the temperature gauge is pegged high even with a new sensor. How do I fix the gauge?

Pull off the negative battery cable and unplug the sensor. See if the gauge needle returns to normal. Try tapping on the cluster to unstick the needle. No luck? Replace the temperature gauge.

My temperature gauge,Tachometer,Speedo,Fuel Tank on my 2003 Opel Astra 1.6 16v Elegance doesn't work intermittantly

connection on the back of the dash needs cleaning if you push on the dash and it all works then this is the fault. sometimes hitting it works just fine for awhile but not to hard.

I was trying to start my Jeep and all the gauges flatlined. They all returned to normal except the speedometer and tachometer which are now stuck underneath the pegs (below 0) How do I adjust them to get...

When you try and start your truck without a jump, what are the battery voltage shown on the gauge, there are times when the battery are just in too bad of a shape that even a jump wont help. Without the jumper cables monitor voltage indicator, it should not fall below 10 volts.

Good luck

At what tempreture must the jags engine run on the tachometer in the car?

Hi there,

The Tachometer is used to report how many Rotations Per Minute (RPM) the engine is running at. The number will vary depending on your speed.

There is also a temperature gauge available on most models for engine temperature. It too can vary depending on engine speed, duration, elevation, etc. As long as it's below 212 degrees, you will be fine
