My 2000 yukon denali won't start. I've never had any problems with it before, we bought it used but have had it about 1 year. The battery seems to be charged, but the car just shut off on me in the middle of the street and I had to coast to the side. Please help

My 99 chrysler lhs problem code p1792 has a charge battery but it won't start it only makes a clicking sound and won't turn on unless I give it a jump.

If it makes a rapid clicking sound when you turn the key, then the battery does not have enough power to turn the starter, fit new battery, after fitting battery start car and check alternator is charging properly, let me know how it goes

2005.5 New Jetta Not Starting, Rapid Clicking Sound

Yes, that does sound like a weak battery, and given its age, should be replaced. Rapid clicking is an indication of low battery power getting to the starter..

Car make rapid clicking sounds when attempting to start

Thats usally a bad battery or bad battery cable connections. If the battery is garunteed to be good and charged, then start looking for a loose terminal or heavily corroded terminals.

I have a 1990 Laser RS Turbo. Won't start, no spark at plugs but spark at coil. I hear a rapid clicking sound behind the radio on the passenger but all the time. When I try to start it it just turns...

normally a quick clicking sound means that the battery is low in voltage and amperage, but first check your connectors and the battery posts to make sure they are clean and secure. if you have a tester, check for voltage at the battery, you should be getting 12 volts or more.if you have 12 volts+,turn on the headlights and test the battery to see if it is retaining 12 volts or not, this is known as a load test. if voltage falls rapidly your battery should be changed.if it holds charge pretty well, than put thr battery on slow charge overnight and retry starting the vehicule.nb. the clicking noise is caused by the onboard computer that reads the voltage before startup and under 11.5 volts your car will make this sound.if your car starts put the tester on the battery again and check voltage,it should be 13volts or higher which means your alternator is charging the battery.

When I turn the key I get a rapide clicking sound

Check your ground wire for battery where it connects to your frame.

Also check/clean the connections where the positive wire goes to the starter solenoid. Any connection you run into from the battery, clean them off with a wire brush or sandpaper.

Starter Solenoid can also be failing/dead, these can be tested for free at most auto part stores if you remove them from the vehicle.

Clicks when attempting to start

If it is just one click per attempt, it may be a bad solenoid on the starter or fire wall relay
If it rapid clicking, it is probably a low battery charge.
Turn on your head lights and check for brightness, leave them on and attempt to crank engine, if the lights go dim, the battery is probably dead. If they stay bright, one of the solenoids ( relays) is probably bad.
