Check the rear upper strut towers. These are notorious for rusting out, and causing the tire to hit the inner fender well. To my knowledge, no recall on this, but I've fixed a few with a rear quarter panel replacement from rock auto. You wouldn't notice it much on the rear of the vehicle. Smell the rear fender wells for burnt rubber odor.
Does the truck run right? Does it smell real gassy, fuel mileage go south? If it is fouling plugs that fast it either has to be burning a lot of fuel or oil. Is there a check engine light on? Engine wore out, burning a lot of oil. Fuel injector stuck, using a lot of gas. Air filter dirty, making it burn way rich. I would think this truck would really smell bad if it is fouling out the plugs that fast.
Not enough information. Normally the first things one thinks of is clogged fuel filter, failed purge valve causing too much tank vacuum, water in the gas, or even PVC foam coating the air mass sensor. But none of those things causes a gas smell. I would then think of a leaking hose connection, bad plug wire, weak spark, etc. However, we would need to see or smell where the gas odor was coming from? A leak is extremely serious because it could cause a fire, but very easy to see and fix. An ignition problem would be harder to see and would require looking for fouled plug that was not firing well. So you need to open the hood and tell us more.
most likely it is the transfer case leaking. known problem on the AWD models. they leak right down on the exhaust and causes the burning smell. have it checked out again.
Ten is not a problem persay but is it a traffic light to light ten miles? never really hittin any highway? If so ive seen lots of plug fouling from short trip situations like that. nothing wrong with car mechanically at all--just the way v8's are. They need taken out and run hard every couple months. If it smells like rotten eggs or simular then its usually the cataletic convertor (sp) and another way to check is if it is starting to go bad it will get really hot. What it does is over a period of time will plug up and when it starts it restricts the airflow causing it to het up and sometimes even start glowing it gets so hot. Hope this helps.
