Question about Toyota Camry Solara

I have a 2001 Toyota Solara convertible. The seat belt is twisted and all the way out. I cannot get it to retract and can't figure out how to get the side panel off that covers it so I can work on it. Can you help?

    Same problem with 2002 Solara convertible.

    I have had this problem with both my 2000 Toyota Solara Convertible and my 2001 same make & model. One of my friends actually had to take off the cover and manually adjust the seatbelt. Sometimes I can just mess with it enough & it will get straight. It is frustrating!!

Happens all the time on ours. You need to take two flat blade screwdrivers and work out the fold in the
seal belt at the top and push the belt back into the slot and all will be well. It takes a few minutes of
working with it and perhaps a few choice words but
if you will keep at it and undo the fold in the belt, it will go back in. To avoid this in the future try to get in the habit of holding the buckle straight out in front of you as the belt retracts when you unfasten your seatbelt.

need to remove the plastic trim where belt retracts to slide up out of way and inspect seat belt retractor drum for debris jamming ratchet or against locking mechanism check belt is not twisted and last look for rust

1999 toyota solara Starts and headlights come on but no panel lights no turn signal, electric seat won't move, can't move shifter to go into drive. What fuse or realy am I looking for?
Have to get yourself some wiring diagrams to figure that out

Seat belt won't retract complete, drivers side
have a look to see if its coiled in twisted as you pull the belt out if the buckle doesn't line straight to the female end well its probely retracted in twisted to repair pull the belt out all the way and then realign the belt its quite hard to do so take your time hope this helps.

How hard is it to put in a new set of airbags and seat belts in a 2001 Toyota Solara?
Seat belts are pretty simple. The airbags just be careful the one in the steering wheel is pretty easy but the one on the passengers side can be a pain.

Mos of the dealers recommend the timing belt change between 60000miles up to 105000miles.
Toyota recommend the timing belt change at 100000miles.

Top will not retract

Drivers seat belt will not retract, it is fully extended 2003 solara conv
The retractor is probably jammed or broken, try tapping it with a hammer, if that doesn't work, replace the retractor.

2002 Toyota Solara Convertible seat belts not retracting
The front seatblet retractor springs have weakened. Unfortunatly, there are no "user serviceable parts" on them. They would have to be replaced. How many miles is on it? If you have low mileage, the Toyota Customer Experience Center may provide you some assistance, as the belt replacements are quite expensive. I'd call the CEC and explain your dilemma.
