Make sure you torque to the right specificatoins before you are done. And then make sure it does not move. You might also have bad bushings to. Thanks for asking. Hope this was a help to you.

How to tighten wheel that keeps coming loose

knowing the type of vehicle would be nice
nuts that keep coming loose indicate the hubs are side specific with left hand and right hand threads
if you have a left hand side hub on the right hand side or vica versa , that will be the reason
next check the rim stud area
square shouldered holes in aluminium wheels require a steel washer first and rims that are tapered at the studs require tapered nuts

Constant rattle on front wheel

Possible bad wheel bearing. Jack up the vehicle and have someone rock the car while you watch and feel for loose parts in the suspension. This is using safety stands too. Best way is using ramps and having the car rocked while weight is on the tires.

Also remember that when checking wheel bearing, the brake pads may prevent some motion so wheel bearing seems tight.

Can't find where to plug in dianostic in freelander exi 1998

Hi there:
The OBD connector is on the left hand side of the centre console. If you run your finger around the left hand side from the cigarette lighter you should find it.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Stop by any good parts store and have them do an OBII scan (fault scan). Rovers have a ton of sensors that could've been affected by your accident. Attached is link to RAVE manuals - free downloadable Rover manuals hope this helps...

Im having a problem opening my hood on my 2000 land rover dis 1

You don't specify whether its just that you can't find the release catch, or whether the release catch is stuck / broken,

In the UK (Right hand drive car) the release catch is situated in the left (passenger side) footwell, within about a foot of the lower front door hinge. In a Left Hand Drive car, I guess this would be reversed (i.e. right hand side footwell). Pull, and it semi releases the hood. Next, walk to the front of the car, pull the hood up about 1" and insert your fingers about a foot left of center. Sweep to the right, and you'll release the secondary catch and the hood will be open.

However, if its stuck / broken, then ......

You need to work underneath the front of the vehicle - the idea is to get at the catch and release it with a long screwdriver flicking the catch to open the bonnet -or getting a grip of the cable if it is hanging loose ( i.e. broken ) then getting a grip of the cable with mole grips or even pliers - to pull and release the cable / bonnet.

Once the bonnet is open - you can deal with renewing the cable assembly, or greasing it thoroughly.

Loud thumping rear right hand strutt

There is obviously other suspension or exhaust bracket problem that is looose. Check all the bushings in the front end, your steering linkages, recheck the strut bolts, check the entire exhaust system to see if it rattles and look for loose brackets or things maybe hanging down on the car. Also look at motor mounts to see if one is broken. Hope this helps you, Rick
