First double check the coolant level, the gurgling noise is probably from an air lock created when refilled. Check by removing the rad cap, not just reservoir level. Top up coolant level if needed, the noise should go away shortly. The coolant smell is most likely from doing the job itself. If it wasn't drained properly, some coolant will spill onto or even into the exhaust system. When it heats it will smell like coolant until burned off. The hum noise I'm not sure, alternators create more of a whine noise. It could also be from spilling coolant on the serpentine belt, it may squeal for a while afterwards. A good technician will always, drain coolant fully first, and should shampoo the engine after the job to eliminate any mess they created. If any of the noises continue, or the coolant is still low after a few days, return it to the garage for further diagnosis.

You don't have a jake brake on it but, you need to get the catalytic converter replaced now too because antifreeze ruins them.

New radiator still losing antifreeze

You could have a leaking water pump or blown head gasket

1999 mercury grand marquis occasionally overheats, leaks around radiator cap, makes gurgling noise on passenger side. Have replaced heater core, water pump, thermostat, hoses,& radiator cap.

Check the antifreeze for oil, pull your dipstick out, see if antifreeze is in oil or smells sweet or over full, sounds like you may of a bad head gasket. You can also check this by having a compression test done on the cylinders.

White Vapor from exhaust and I think the water vapor contains antifreeze in exhaust pipes?

If you "smell" the exhaust it will smell sweet if it has antifreeze in it. If that's the case then you might have bad head gasket(s) or cracked head(s) or block. If in fact it is antifreeze in the exhaust, a "leak down" test will help diagnose this. I would take it to a shop that you trust for further testing.

I have a 1999 GMC Safari van that overheated last week.Rad was dry.I have refilled with antifreeze water mixture, van runs and has heat , no leaks under vehicle, no antifreeze smell. Van is running rough...

yes a beginner can just follow the top rad. hose to the block use a 10mm socket to take the 2 bolts out. scrape the old gasket away put new gasket and high temp silcone on gasket and install new thermostat.

doesnt sound like the problem to me, check the oil make sure no water is in it, sounds like the head is cracked on the exhaust side and ur water is going out your tailpipe, so in turn would ruin your cat converter and make the truck run raggy

I have milky oil(valvoline oil center said it was moisture in the oil, either a busted head gasket or something like it) and i'm also experiencing jerky and poor acceleration. i need to know if these...

They are right head gasket, or cracked head, and that can absolutely make your car run poorly. You can probably also smell antifreeze in the exhaust. That is from coolant leaking into the cylinders, coolant is not flammable, and there fore has no place in the compression chamber. If your not smelling antifreeze, you probably are running straight water, but there is probably steam coming from the pipe none the less. You should change the head gasket before driving much further. Make sure you change your oil and filter as well as the coolant, If there is water in the oil, there is oil in the water, and MAKE SURE you have your head checked before re-installing it, It may be cracked or warped.
