Went down a rough road kinda fast and then noticed i had no running lights or brake lights, and when i hit turn signal both tail lights were dim and flashing. i checked the plugs at the tail light assm. and found all 4 terminals had power on the driver side and the pass side had power only on the 2 outside terminals. did i lose a ground some how? and if so where would it be located?

This usually means that the front, or rear turn signal bulbs is bad...also some turn signal tail light bulbs are multi-purpose...same bulb lights for turn signal and brake light...You should be able to remedy this for the cost of a bulb...your owners manual and the parts counter rep can confirm the correct replacement bulb...Hope this helps.
I think you have a bad ground at the back on both rear lights or their earth out on the same connection but these american cars use a funny system where the stop lights are the indicators and not a seperate yellow light like europeon motors ,Now these brake light switches also allow the indicators to work by shutting off the feed to the stop light so it flashes with indicators ,Why american cars use this system i dont know as its so complicated for the stop light switch function but try the ground or earth wire on the back lights and if no joy then ask a american mechanic with experiance of this sort of circuitry as when i get american cars for import i have to fit new back lights and disconnect the brake light switch .
Brake light switch, located on upper brake pedal should be checked, that is most likely your brake light issue, but U say tail lights aren't working, but running lights do, tail lights and running lights I would consider to be the same, so can u clarify that for me? Let me know how the u do w/ brake light switch, and if u have issue w/ tail lights?
