Misfire cylinder lincoln ls

Misfire is almost always bad spark plug and/or ignition coil. I wouldnt trust an OBDII scanner to correctly diagnose which cylinder is misfiring. Your best bet is to replace the coils in all 8 cylinders (or 6 if its a V6) since when one goes out it makes the others work harder, meaning that they arent far behind

Where is spark plug located on lincoln ls 3.0eng 2002

The spark plugs in the v6 can become an involved job as the upper intake manifold. The LS uses a Coil on Plug (COP) ignition system, meaning that the spark plugs are located under the ignition coil

Cannot access #8 sparkplug with appropriate aftermarket socket, will not fit in after coil has been removed, where do i go from here?

I have a 2004 LS V8 and have no issues at all getting the plugs out. Why don't you have a selection of extensions for your ratchet. Use a standard length spark plug socket on #8

Also use the OEM plugs. Their made just for the LS.
NGK-FR5AP-11E was the OE Motorcraft Plug.

Buy -- NGK 6569 But not from the dealer. Too expensive

I assume you use Permatex Anti-Seize on the plug threads on all vehicles !!

I assume this has 8 coils, the one you are checking,is it the right one, have you located the exact cylinder miss fire?I believe,if I am not wrong,it has two coils per cylinder,It is showing this on the code.It is the primary coil, coil A ,the secondary coil is not showing up,any way, it is showing that the boot on the coil is leaking, and not sparking the spark plug.Let me know if I can help.
