I have ford contour 98 model, it has mileage 104380 on it so far. It makes a lot of noise when i start the car and the rpm is way too high. I do not need to press the accelerator when in drive mode. It speeds really fast. the worst part is, when i change the gear, the car shakes and makes terrible noise. It has high rpm and high idle speed. Error codes in OBD2 are p1506, p0102 and p0122. I read about these problems but i dont know what do i really do about it. Hope to hear from you soon.
The Idle Air Valve may be stuck. My Contour usually has a low idle problem. I have been tapping on the Idle Air Valve solenoid and sure enough the valve will unstick. A new valve goes for about $115 new.

I would need to listen to the "clicking" noise before I could even begin to help with that. As far as a high idle at start up, in many cases on a Ford if you have that problem you may have a vacuum leak. Your computer corrects the problem after start up so the vehicle runs correctly. Is your check engine light on ? Most cases, a vacuum leak will cause it to come on but would need the code to be sure. Now finally the A/C only working on high would mean that you most likely have a bad blower motor resistor. Very common symptom for a bad resistor. Could be the switch but doubt it. Hope this helps....
This sounding like an Idler bearing problem, Sounds like the idler bearing that supports your belt is either loose or needs replading. I say this because when you get the RPMs up on the motor the noise should almost disappear?
