It could be a worn, or loose belt if the sqeaking comes and goes. If that is the case you can buy a spray on belt treatment at a local parts store that will keep the belt from slpping, ( the cause of the sqeaking.)
If the engine is sqeaking the entire time that the engine is running, you could have worn bearings on a pully. ( ie, a/c compressor, alternator. )
Either the belt is worn and causing this or one of the pulleys on the motor may be causing this if the belt is good remove the belt and test the diff pulleys by spining them with your hand wiggling each one and see if they are loose. hope this helps

this noise (based on my own Corvette doing the same thing) is that it is the sway bar rubber bushings making the noise, remove them and apply white grease to the inside of the rubber bushing, then retest, it fixed mine (1996)
