Low beams not working, parking lights come on, hi-beams work, husband & brother have check fuses & relays. The lights work intermittently and then become worse over time (weeks) -- to the point where they are no longer working - period. They made a brief appearance the other morning as I was pulling out of my garage, but by night fall - nothing.

I found a short in the wireing purely by accident. After replacing bulbs, swithc and checking fuses I decided it was a grounding issue. I kept the headlights on and started jiggiling wires. I suddenly smelled plastic burning and located the short behind the bumper directly in the center of both headlights. It seems kind of a wierd setup. Near as I could figure it there are 2 wires coming from one headlight hooking up to one wire for the other. Anyway spliced in a jumper wire and problem seems to be solved

I had the same problem on my 96 and ended up replacing the wire from the headlight switch to the headlights. The wire hardness has several bundle connectors and all I could figure was that I had a break somewhere in the low beam wire to the switch. The headlights are grounded through the headlight switch to complete the circut.

My 2002 Escalade's dash, radio display, and the S.I.C lights go out when headlights are turned on? All the display lights work when the daytime running lights are on. What could this problem be?...

If you have an aftermarket stereo, you need to check your wires. You may have an incorrect wire connected. Disconnect the radio harness and turn the lights on and see if the dash lights go out. If they don't the stereo wiring is the problem.

Light switch wiring harness is melting on "b" headlight and causes headlights to fail i replaced the lightswitch several times

Could be a bad bulb....Don't laugh I've seen it happen a few times. The glass part of the bulb loosens up causing the filament to twist and short it out. I hope this was helpful.

Dimmer lights will not come on but the bright light works. I have change the headlights, lightswitch, dimmer switch, what esle can I check.

To keep the switch from arcing and wearing out, they use a relay. The dimmer switch turns the relay on and off, so does not use as much current. The relay is a small plastic box plugged into the fuse box, along with several other relays.

1993 eagle talon headlight problem

1st, it is not normal on this car for the lights or your cluster lights to be on during the day. It has no sensor for day/night and was not an option on these cars.

Sounds like someone has rewired your lights somewhere to run when the ignition is on. If you are lucky, you 'll be able to recognize a difference in a stock wire harness and an altered one. If it was done, more correctly, it will be much harder to find. It may also be under the driver side dash at the console.

It will be from the multi-position lightswitch to an ignition wire. A wiring diagram would help. Be cautious though. This may have been done to bypass a non-working switch like the connections you found.

Blowing fuse

hi take the fuse out replace with a temparary test light turn your headlights on if there is a short the light will light up so what you need to do now is disconnect the headlights one at a time until test light goes out when testlight goes out you know this is the faulty headlight if the test light stays on disconnect lightswitch connecter see if testlight goes out if so replace switch if it stays on find headlight relay remove it see if test light stays on if it does then there is a short in the wiring which is very rare yates210456
