My tire pressure warning light won't go off. I changed rims and tires.(Dodge rims) Now my warning light doesn't go off.

  • Anonymous Jan 25, 2011

The 2008 Dodge tires and rims were replaced as units from a 2009 Dodge. (They were nicer than my wheels and the other guy bought fancy new aftermarket rims and new tires). I was hoping there was a way to disable the whole system or would that get Fix.ya into trouble.

I am a big boy now and can monitor my own tires.

    (tires on rims-all Dodge stuff.)

Your tires should all be set to the same psi per your sticker on the door-including the spare tire. If one is under inflated, it'll do that.

When you changed the rims did you put regular valve stems or did they put in the stems from the old wheels .because the sender for the pressure is in the valve stem assy.

It seems to me you may need to replace the low pressure sensor located inside the rim.

2007 dodge magnum warning light on dash looks like explanation mark in a circle. Noticed it after puting my winter tires on

It's your tire pressure monitoring system. You probably have a second set of rims that do not have the monitor system built in.

I put new rims on my 2010 dodge avenger and now my yellow (!) keeps flashing. my tires are not low. how can i fix this

your car had tpms tire pressure monitoring system in each rim you previously had on. they did not get put on the new rims so your car thinks your tire pressure is at zero. so it freaking out. you need to get those sensors on the new rims and reset. that will solve your problem

I changed rims and tires on my 2008 toyota sienna and tire pressure warn ing light came on followed by abs, traction control, and check engne, lights. what could cause this to happen? does anybody know how...

Sounds like they did not swap over your tire pressure monitoring sensors. They probably just used regular rubber valve stems. I would call and ask whoever put them on.

Reset the Tire Pressure Warning light.

well it depends, if you have just reset the tire pressures, the light should go off by itself, if it doesn't then you have a bad tire pressure sensor. If you have replaced the sensor, it must be programmed into the WCM by the dealership.

Changed right front tire now reads zero on dash light is on

Your tire pressure monitor needs to be reset whenever you change or rotate your tires...

1. check and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure

2. turn the ignition switch to the ON position. If the low tire pressure warning light comes on, push and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch (think the switch is in the glovebox, but not sure) until the warning light turns off and then release the switch.

3. now press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the low tire pressure warning light blinks three times.

4. initialization is *not* completed until driving at the vehicle speed of 19 mph or over for more than one hour. the tire pressure monitoring starts when initialization is completed.

The check tire pressure light and ABS auto traction sensor light keep coming on. Tire pressure is good

The tire pressure monitor detects any changes in the tire inflation pressure. Therefore, it must initialize and store it in its memory if the tires or wheels have been replaced, re-inflated or the tires have been rotated. You should be able to re-initialize the system by following these steps:

1. check and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure

2. turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

I have a panel indicater light on

That horseshoe-looking warning icon on your instrument panel is a cross-section of a tire. It indicates that tire pressure is low in one or more wheels. It may also inndicate that one or more tire-pressure sensors in the wheels is faulty (small battery is worn out). The air valves on yoiur rims are equipped with pressure sensors, mounted on the inside of the rim. These sensors send a wireless signal to an on-board sensor that reports low tire pressure or faulty sensor. So, check your tire pressure. It may take a few days for that icon on the dash to extinguish.
