You could have a clogged Catalytic Converter, the Smog Station should have let you know why your car doesn't pass smog and what needs to be fixed so it will pass.

What is the cause of water dripping out exhaust pipe and engine smoking excessively?

Cold weather right? Dripping is the water condensing from the exhaust gases. The "smoke" is more than likely water vapor, just like your breath in cold weather. If you have smoke (black) in warmer weather, you have an excess fuel problem and won't pass emmision tests. If blue smoke you have oil leaks into the coubustion chamber. Also will not pass emmisions test.

Oil smell and smoke 2006 buick lucerne

is the smoke coming from under the car or out the exaust pipe?
under the car ! you have an oil leak and its probably landing on your exhaust pipe which by the way can ignite and go on fire if the pipe gets too hot. if its out the exaust ! computer or air intact problems. worst case: rings are bad and oil is mixing with the gas in the piston chamber. Hope this helps a little good luck and God Bless

Exaust system torns red on a 1996 town car

this is a good indication that the convertors are plugged up and need replacing.this indicates a blockage in the exhaust from the point at the rear of the glowing exhaust forward but usually at the site of the blockage.you will have to replace the convertors as this is the only legal way of repairing the problem and remember you still have to have the car pass an emmissions test when its due.

if engine is running without missfire check catyletic converter for plugging also very rich running will cause exhaust to glow but will cause alot of black smoke from tail pipe I dont reccomend driving vehicle till exhaust or rich running is fixed can lead to engine failure

Why is my motor oil coming out my tail pipe?

Bad Piston,Bad rings,bad valve seals,Cracked cylinder head.cracked block. Don't forget now there is a lot of suction and compression going on in a motor. If any of the above are happening in an engine the suction will pass oil through a bad piston or rings or any of the above and cause Blue smoke and spit oil out the exaust along with blue smoke.

1993 camar o 3.4 engine

Hello;
You probably have a spark plug wire at fault. If it does nt fire, the fuel dumps into the exhaust and then burns, hence the glowing pipe. Definetly needs to be fixed right away. You may also have an injector stuck.
Hope this helps,

Sounds like it's time for a compression check. The head or gasket could be blown, and this test will confirm or deny this fact. Your smoke/steam and the oily residue are pretty good clues...accordianman
