BRAND preference - is there really any difference

Does anybody have idea on which BRAND manufacture is better....
Replacement brand - $73 OR

Is there really any quality difference here.

window regulator? get one from a junkyard, factory parts for things like that are usually the only way to go.

I need to replace the belt on my 2001 pt cruiser (2.4) can i by pass the ac and what size belt would be needed to do this?

They do not make a different belt, you must by what is a called an AC delete pulley, it bolts where the compressor used to go and you use the same belt. The pulley is mad by a auto parts manufacturer called "DORMAN" contact a local auto parts store like NAPA (Autozone/O'reiley will likely have no clue) for more info. The part is cheap.

Hey i have a 98 dodge durango and im about to change my oil im in utah right now and its starting to get cold so i was wonderin what oil i should buy and what oil filter i need

I think chrysler recommends 5w30 year round for this vehicle. You owners manual will give you better insight. If you do not have one you can get them in PDF form on the chrysler website.

As far as the filter, if your asking for a part number every manufacturer has a different number. If your asking for what brands are good I prefer either WIX or NAPA brands. I still stay away from FRAM.

Raplace wiper blades for a Lexus RX330 2004. What are the recommended brands: Bosch, Anco, Denso, Other?

There isn't really a recommended brand for a wiper,it is more personal preference.I can assure you that all blades are made the same basic way.I always buy the cheapest ones personally.Paying a dollar or more extra for a specific brand is not really going to result in longer lasting enough to make a difference. One thing you will need to know is the size required for each side. Some are the same size, some are different.Mine needs an 18" on one side and a 20" on the other. If they are sold in pairs I have another set available already. One brand I do recommend NOT buying is the triple bladed,I think the brand name is Rain-X,if they still exist. There are 3 blades where as a normal one has only one.The extra resistance caused by the 3 blades does not seem like much but there were issues with it in the past about them possibly burning up wiper motors. For better rain resistance on your windshield,I wax the windshield occassionally. There are all kinds of chemical supplements around to do the same but who knows what they do to the blades and windowseal.Wax is very safe and non-corrosive.I am sorry if you think i wrote too much but I educate and inform as much as possible so you can make a well informed decision and know you are doing the right thing. Also, basically the same thing goes for tires. They are all basically the same.Ever since vulcanization and adding reinforcing metal,it's all about equal. If you have front wheel drive, when you get any suspension work done(CV's,ball joints) or replace the tires, get a front end alignment after for maximum performance.Good luck! Window regulator needs to be changed on 99 Dodge Durango.

I just replaced all regulators on my 1996 mercury. One brand is as good as another. When replacing the regulators check the motors and replace the plastic plugs with ball bearings. $.84 cents a piece vs $8.51 for the plastic plugs also put plenty of wheel bearing greese in the motor, ie pack it. Bought the regulators for less than $20 on the internet.

Front end clicking noise on 96 subaru impreza

jack the wheel up and and sharp spin left and right should help you locate the problem. did you change both sets of the universal joints, if so did you really pack them well with the grease as sometimes if the grease is not well packed you can get a dry spot and this will heat up and become damaged.

Bad timing belt

a timing belt is pretty much a timing belt, they are all made out of rubber. It is usually that each manufacturer has a different price and alot of times one ends up paying fr a name. but if you are really concerned get one that is priced in the midle, and you shouldn't loose any sleep over it.

Disconnect radiator from transmition oil lines

O.K. here we go.. The fittings require a special tool to release line from fitting. Look here its a good listing of disconnect tools with the tools application along side of it. Probably A379

Next, on those vans the lines and fittings are notorious for leaking and I have found best supplier for replacement lines and fittings is Dorman, really good quality aftermarket parts.

Go to where the lines and connectors are listed and look yours up. For sure you will be replacing fitting and I bet you will end up replacing lines.
Those transmissions are notoriuos for failing early so now might be good time to service transmission.
You can take the tool part number, and dorman numbers to local O'reillys and if they don't have in stock they will have at warehouse a few hours away. You may have to look for same tool made by another manufacturer, I am not 100% with my guess on your tool, ask your parts guys.
