Could be the coil, injector or plug. MIL (check engine light) should be on and flashing if the car is misfiring. The ECM (computer) will make the light flash if misfire is detected to let you know that more stuff could be damaged if you dont fix misfire and you need to fix it ASAP.

Bad plug and/or plug wire. Also if the car still uses a distributor cap and rotor, inspect those as well.

Misfiring cylinder 3 on axiom 2004, replaced coil and plug, need info. On cleaning injectors.

how do you know that, (you never said)
P0303 DTC errors? that?
303 means.
#3 cylinders combustion energy is weak, to a tech it means the piston velocity was week, slow to accelerate, it was.
that can be.
1: spark bad (for gas/petrol engines)
2: injection bad.
3: this cylinder compression bad.

it is NOT just a spark issue, not at all.
it can even be air leaks (vacuum ) near #3 but that cause.
injection rates to seem wrong when ok. lean.
see?

id be all over compression tests.
after all cant burn fuel with weak compression.
it may burn but 303 will keep going.
then spark, cant burn fuel with bad spark
and last is fueling. (air and fuel mix)
in that order, is how it happens in real world.
but we take short cuts, sure, and new spark plugs are prudent fast and only $2 each.

Why the spark plug keeps burning after a couple of days. Then i renew it and it will happen again.

does it start every time
check list
running hot
too much revs and load
fuel mixture too rich /lean
coil problem
burnt valve
burning oil

What is wrong with my 2004 mazda rx8. Cat. Converter was glowing red, running poorly & louder than normal. Changed cat & resinatorpipe but problem persists.

RAW FUEL IS ENTERING THE EXHAUST AND BURNING IN THE CAT. YOU MUST HAVE AN ENGINE MISFIRE ON ONE OR MORE CYLINDERS CAUSING THE SUPPLIED FUEL TO THE ENGINE NOT TO GET BURNED. I WOULD SUSPECT A BAD SPARK PLUG OR PLUG WIRE GIVING YOU TROUBLE AND CAUSING THE ENGINE TO RUN ROUGH AND ALSO CAUSING THE FUEL TO NOT GET BURNED IN THE CYLINDER

2007 Toyota Tacoma v6. Hard to start about 1 hour after initial cold start, longer cranking. Problem?

Is the check engine light on? How long has it been since the engine was tuned up? A worn plug that is "hot soaked" can create a longer cranking time. Hot soaked means it may have some un-burned fuel in the cylinder since the first cold start. A weak or worn plug has a harder time getting this fuel burned out of the cylinder when more fuel is being added during a warm start.

7.4 vortec number 2 cylinder dead. Getting spark. 160 lbs compression. Cat converter getting cherry red. What could the problem be?

If the fuel injector on that cylinder is supplying too much fuel it can result in a fuel-fouled plug. This will not allow for combustion even though the plug tries to fire, then the fuel will be ejected into the exhaust stream and burned in the cat. This causes the cherry red. This is something to have checked quickly. The excess fuel will damage the cylinder walls and destroy the cat.

1991 Honda Accord, 213k, changed oily sparkplugs and now engine blows excessive smoke and oil continuously out the exaust from start up to shut down.

Old spark plugs were likely fouled with oil and not burning fuel (and oil) completely so minimal smoke before change out. New plugs are clean and burning everything in cylinders well including oil (therefore more smoke). If smoke from exhaust is blue, then engine oil is getting into cylinders either through worn out piston rings, or a leaking gasket. If black smoke, then this is a sign of too much fuel getting into cylinders and not all the fuel is getting burnt during combustion (a fuel system problem).

WHEN HIT GAS PEDAL BLACK SMOKE COMES OUT OF MY TAIL PIPE

look at spark plugs and make sure they are good and not worn (improper burning of fuel) also note which plug came from what cylinder, If all plugs are same color then you have a rich burn of fuel and not enough air mixture, if a few plugs are dark and the rest look clean and light brown then do a dry compression check on cylinders, if any cylinder is low on compression then proceed to do a wet compression check on cylinders, if they increase on compression then you have bad or worn piston rings which would burn oil causing smoke as well.

What is a cylinder 3 misfire

CYLINDER 3 MISFIRING. MEANS NOT FIRING .CYLINDER 3 IS MISSING FIRE.COULD BE FAULTY OR DIRTY FUEL INJECTOR.YOU COULD HAVE BAD SPARK PLUG OR COIL AND WIRE.CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS CHANGE PLUGS AND COIL TO NUMBER 3 CYLINDER .WHEN YOU DO A LITTLE TUNE UP.THAT WAY YOU WILL KNOW IF YOU HAVE A MECHANICAL PROBLEM TO 3 CYLINDER LIKE LOW COMPRESSION.LEAKING INTAKE AT 3 CYLINDER OR BURNED OUT VALVE.

What causes a misfire on a 99 pontiac grand am if spark plugs or good and the car does not have wires

here are the common causes of a missfire, defective ignition coil or ignition coil wiring for that cylinder, defective fuel injector, defective powertrain control module, intake manifold vacuum leak, low cylinder compression.
