AC compressor clutch wont engage

Compressor will not run if freon charge low. If you want it to run supply direct power and ground to back of compressor. I do not recommend a home recharge as you will not be able to evacuate the moisture in the system and inject adequate amounts of oil

Do I have to replace the old expansion devices on the A/C when installing a new compressor? Same for the old dryer?

There is no reason to replace the expansion valve unless it tested faulty (very rare). The receiver drier should be replaced any time that the system is opened, and then the system must be evacuated before recharging

I just replaced a new rear ac evaporator in my 2006 town and country mini van and i need to know how to charge the ac

you are best to take it to a shop that does a/c work to have them evacuate and vacume the system to remove all the air out of the system then recharge moisture will cause problems in the system.also the R134 freon that the system uses is far more dangerous to humans than R12 and can cause serious health problems with little inhalation of the gas.

I have a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country. It blows air, but not cold air when AC is engaged. We put a test light on the AC clutch, no power. We swapped fuses and fuse relays, still not results. Not sure...

Low or no refrigerant will keep the compressor from getting power to prevent damage to the compressor. I would make sure the system has freon in it first.

Recharge freon. How do you add freon to the air conditioning?

when the ac doesnt blow cold and the compressor pump doesnt click on ,this can only be done with the proper machine to remove the gas and weigh how much was taken out ,then oil recovery and a vacumn then recharge with the corerect weight of gas .

2004 Chrysler Town and Country 3.8L. Sounds like bearing noise. Had AC recharged today. They indicated everything else with compressor fine. Still have a bearing noise when compressor engages. Can...

Extra a/c load on belt will cause any marginal bearing to become noisy... check carefully with a probe (I use a long extension... two foot, or an equally long screwdriver as a stethoscope) Be very careful that you don't get it or you, caught in the belt when doing this. All bearings make some noise, but one will stand out from the rest if it's bad.

AC Wont charge after replacing components

whenever the ac system has been opened it should be hooked up to a vacuum pump designed to evacuate the ac system of any foreign debris and oil etc and after should be able to hold a vacuum to show that there are in fact no leaks then if all is ok at this point you can then charge your ac with the proper freon specified for you car when the pressure reaches satisfactory level the ac compressor will then cycle on you should not bypass the low pressure switch
