Where is idle adjustment screw on 1989 nissan sentra

on the throttle body. the gas pedal cable from inside the car leads under the hood on drivers side to the throttle body. throttle body is attached to the intake.
*****you should not have to adjust your idle. itusually means that there is a bad sensor if your idle has changed suddenly,****
what exactly is the car doing? ex.fluctuating rpms?, low constant idle?, high idle?

Inconsistant idle

bad idle can be caused by 100 things, but for sure the ECU has lost control, we check all other things first then work dead idle last.
but the #1 cause of bad idle (you never said the low rpm hot?)
but EGR stuck open. is #1
other causes:
1; needs a tune up bad.
2: air fuel ratio bad, (bad fueling of any kind)
3: ECU stuck in limphome mode, is CEL glowing running? if yes, then pull the codes, better is a full scan now.

Voltage flexuates from14volts to 11volts when 2003 tahoe is in drive and brake is apply at stop sign and also when idling

Check that the idle speed is not too low in drive . Should be around 900 rpm in neutral and the idle speed is adjuste in drive to no less than 750 rpm. IT takes rpm for the alternator to charge the battery so if you have 11 volts then the car is runnung off the battery and not the alternator. It needs 13.5 volts to charge a battery and most regultors are set at 14 vvolt to 15.5 volts. If the vehicle is runnung from the battery as I stated then items like blinkers and stop light operation will show as fluctuations on the gauge. Have the system check . Make sure the drive belt to the aklternator is correctly adjusted as a slipping belt will also cause a problem.

My rav 4 idles real low and kills the care. what could cause the problem?

If low all of the time then have the idle raised. If fluctuating up and down then probably the IAC sensor. You might try cleaning the throttle body real good. Let it air out before you put air intake assembly back on and start, will make smoke. Also the will help clean the TPS. Check for leaks also with starter fluid (be careful). Spray on hoses and if engine RPM's go up you found leak.

Idling bad especially when it's hot and in a heavy traffic-stop &g.o idle fluctuate when I stop between 700 to lower than 500. Is it bad idle control valve?

thats far to low for idleing you need to bring that up to 850-900rpm the valve may be faulty but try to tune it first,,,thats the cheaper of the two

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Problem

Idle prolem could be a dirty throttle body or sticky air idle control motor.
If the Jeep is a 6 cly. the adjustment for the belt is the power steering pump.
If the Jeep is an 8 cyl. the tensioner is on the pass. side of car.

Honda Accord 1991 idles high then low

)The fact that thge engine idle fluctuates when it is cold indicates that the Fast Idle THermo Valve is out of adjustment.
This valve is located ot the front of the intake manifold on the driver's side just below the accelerator cable. To adjust it, wait until the engine is cold (best to do it first thing in the morning).
Remove the two screws holding the cover on and start the engine. There is a brass needle sticking up through a plastic ring that has two slots in it. With the engine idle fluctuating, use a thin flat blade screwdriver to SLOWLY turn the ring CLOCKWISE
until the idle stabilizes. Once done. put the cover back on withg the two screws and you should be done.
