05 Malibu 3.5 L automatic. Runs good from 0-54 miles/hour. Suddenly above 55 mph runs rough&shakes.

You make no mention that you have had a fault code scan run, do that first.

06 Murano steering shakes when accelerating around 60 mph. Just balanced tires, still shakes. Doesn't shake while coasting same speed

Do you feel the shaking in the steering wheel as well? If so, it may be a worn steering linkage. If not, have your CV joints and U-Joints checked and, if you have a 4WD, have the transfer case output shaft bearing checked.

On 98 caravan 2.4 it starts to wobble at 40up to 50 mph mostly when accelerating when speed reached smoths also smooths out after 50 mph alll new including valves. could bad wires cause this?

How old are the good tires? These speeds usually mean belt or balance problem with tires...If new tires, they need to be re-checked for balance...and not out of round...also check for bent wheel...due to chuckhole? Sometimes a bent steel wheel can be hammered straight...hope this helps.

Most likely a bad motor mount

My 1996 buick lesabre thumps when accelerating over around 50 mph, usually when entering the freeway. Already replaced all 3 coil packs, fuel, oil and air filters. Is it worth it to replace the spark

I would want to know where the noise is coming from first.
If you had a cylinder not firing, you should get a check engine light with a trouble code stored in the computer.
It could be something hitting the exhaust pipes, a weak motor mount, or any number of other things.
Does it feel like it involves the fact you are at that speed, or the fact the engine is working very hard ?

I've gutted all my catalytic converters and car still wont accelerate smoothly or go over 80 mph

gutting the cat converters was not a smart thing to do
the ECM needs feed back from the sensors to regulate the air/fuel mixture and now you expect it to do the job with half the sensors removed
like trying to brush your teeth with no hands
replace the cat converters with new ones then run the fault codes to really find the problem area

I have 1990 saab 900 turbo, it is vibrating a lot when i accelerate after 50 mph, wheels are balanced, its definitly a power related thing and the exahuast shakes alot also from this vibration....bit of a...

Hi John:

First suggestion would be to have the three engine mounting bushings checked out, these dampen the normal engine vibrations and if they have failed (gone soft, perhaps from contamination by oil, or just age) they don't restrain the engine. Polyurethane is possibly the best replacement.

I'm assuming that there are no other problems with the engine through it's rev range, until you get to that speed? And that the engine otherwise runs smoothly, even after that speed?

The other possibility is imbalance in the axle half shafts. Did you have the wheels balanced on the car? That might balance all the rotating parts.

Let us know.

Good luck!
