92 Olds Stalls when braking

This wagon has electrical foo going on. It stalls dead (not sputters) when braking. My wife thinks this is an issue because the power steering dies when braking in a turn, causing her to run off road. I replaced the brake interruptor switch, disconnected the cruise control, tested with electrical connections to transmission disconnected (tested for TCC isuue), It stalls whether in drive, park or neutral. It is somehow related to the group of 3 wires emanating from the brake interruptor switch (as opposed to the 2-wire group from this switch). Oddly, it also seems to be related to strange behavior with the fuel gauge, which is pegged WAY above F. In fact, with no key in ignition (all gauges typially drop to left), the gauge accurately reads the fuel level at F, but if I step on brakes (no key in ignition), the gauge pegs and stays there, so juice seems to get to fuel gauge when it shouldn't be ??? Two other issues which may or may not be related: 1) I was told the ABS brake system doesn't work and 2) the air conditioner compressor motor rattles a lot. Do you all have any odea what to do ?

The idle is normal. It does not sputter to a stop, it dies instantly. It must be electrical since the fuel gauge acts weird even with no keys in the car. I will try clearing the computer to see if that helps.

Often this is caused on automatic models by a fault in the TCC solenoid. On front side of the transmission, pointing towards front of the car, there is a square plug. Try unplugging it, if this fixes the problem then it is TCC solenoid. Do not drive the car with solenoid plug unplugged, or drive just to get to the garage, car is not safe and you can cause further damage driving in this conditions.

Sounds like maybe the Idle is too low. Try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes and then reconnecting it, that will reset the computer and if there are no serious electrical problems it may fix the problem. If there is a tachometer, what is the idle RPM?

92 Nissan Stanza sputtering and stall

You may have frozen fuel lines. Sounds like not enough fuel is getting to the engine. You may need to bleed the system and change fuel pump, fuel filter and check the injectors

My 1992 Nissan Maxima is sputtering upon acceleration. It has 220,000 miles on it and it seems to mainly have this problem in first gear. And mostly happens shortly after starting the car. Ive done a basic...

92 max
I own a 92 max 370 kms runs good but one day just cuts out while doing about 30 km, I pull over i can start it no problem but when I touch the pedal to accelerate the car stalls out.

It got worse to the point of sputtering on the highway , sometimes i could keep it alive by working the pedal but others would slow down and stall out.

I have changed the fuel filter and plugs seemed to make it a bit better but still stalling. I ran it in my driveway for 10 mins on idle then it stalls out

Is this the fuel pump??

1992 pontiac boneville, keeps stalling

Have you chg.fuel filter and had a fuel pressure test done? Does it have spark after it stalls? Fuel pumps are a common problem, they work when cold get warmed up they quit, after a while quit all together. Do the fuel pressure test.

92 Jaguar XJ6 stalls after breaking

First and foremost I would demand the dealer to access the situation since I assume you paid them to fix the problem. This sounds like an electronic issue between the transmission and the idle switch. When you brake with an auto transmission it downshifts thus adjusting the rpms to compensate. If this is malfunctioning it could very well stall it..
