Hmmmm, Could be many things, but I would check ignition timing, distributor cap/wires/rotor, incorrectly gapped spark plugs, fuel injection unit...dirty or worn, faulty coil, brakes binding, automatic transmission fluid level, emissions control system, low or uneven cylinder compression pressures. Testing this will dedetect leaking valves and/or blown head gasket. I hope this helps...Adios

I seem to recall a friend had this problem , sounds like the transmission, or it might be the linkage if you are lucky.

Hi:
to help figure out what is going on with your car, the first thing to do is get the code downloaded to see what the cause is. A local auto parts store, such as auto zone, can download your codes and get you in the ballpark as to what failed. If they have a parts recommendation, give it a shot...

Car bogs down when given gas.

Hi there,
This problem is most commonly caused by a weak fuel pump. It will need to be checked with a fuel pressure guage. If you can obtain a fuel pressure guage you will need to observe the fuel pressure while accellerating to see if it drops out.
good luck

1984 chevy silveradero, trqnsmission shifts late

The way you adjust the cable is you push in on the tab push the cable in all the way release tab and then get in the truck and press the gas pedal to the floor..Now it will shift..Your pushing in on the little cone that is right before the cable comes out of it all the way to wards the tab your pushing down and then letting go of the tab then pressing your gas pedal all the way to the floor. Then its adjusted..It should shift now Have a great day

Car accelerates without pressing gas pedal

I had a similar problem with a K5 Blazer, where the gas pedal had a plastic pivot point in the linkage. After about 60K miles, the pivot developed a burr that locked the gas pedal open and kept the vehicle about 60 MPH. If I kicked the pedal to knock it off the burr, it would then slow down. Try it...
