I have replaced the coil (external) and Ignition module. There is no spark from the distributor or the coil. I assume from that, there is no problem with the distributor or its components. I would like to trouble shoot the wiring to the coil. 2 wires come from the module. Of the 2 others, one is a heavier guage black wire and one is a tan wire with a slip apart connector a few inches from the coil. They both disappear into the harness after that. I want to know what those last 2 wires do and what that connector is. It looks more elaborate than a splice.

Make sure the red wire to the distributor is hot. Also make sure the distributor is grounded. You may have to run a wire from the distributor to a ground.

Ignition mystery! 1994 GMC Suburban 2500 5.7 mtr. No spark to spark plugs. Have spark from coil to distributor. Have changed coil wire, cap, rotor, ignition module, and coil. have 12.5 volts going to...

I guess you could have the ignition analyzed on an oscilloscope. Maybe a tech could see something then.
I always heard the only gap was the spark plug gap-the rotor has no gap-are you sure you got the correct rotor? And does it touch the top distributor cap coil wire tower?

Let us know. It is a mystery worthy of a solution.

I HAVE A 95 BLAZER WITH NO SPARK , CHANGED ALL COMPONETS I COULD FIND , STILL NO SPARK , NOW WHAT DO I DO

Could be the ignition module. It is located on distributor under rotor . Unscrew distributor cap and flip out of the way, leaving spark plug wires attached. Pull rotor off and remove electrical wires on both ends of ignition module. unbolt ignition module and remove. Make sure you put the grease on the metal bottom side of ignition module to disipate the heat that is generated, before you install new ignition module, if you want it to last.Good Luck.

No spark. I have changed out the distributor cap, rotor, wiring from coil to cap, and coil was replaced. I checked the distibutor by turning ignition key and observing the rotor turn. What else can I check. I did not observe a module.

Im not getting spark to my spark plugs

Remove the distributor cap, so that the rotor is visible. Have an assistant turn the ignition to crank the engine over. If the rotor does not turn when the engine is cranking, then you need a timing belt or chain.

If the rotor does turn, then replace the coil.

Cant get any spark

You're not getting spark out of the ignition coil? Do you have power to the coil? What about ground? If you have spark from the coil to the distributer, but nothing coming out of the distributer, then check your cap and rotor.
