The seat belt does not work on an ignition locking device. Need to remove side panel and visually inspect roller and gear locking mechanism.

Chrysler has a Technical Service Bulletin for drain blockage.

Hi John,

I'm not sure about the 2004, but my 86 Cherokee has a wire bundle beneath the rear bumper. A test light and yelling to a friend in the drivers seat made wire identification pretty easy. (I don't get up that easy any more from a prone position ;0)

Before you replace the motor, pull your boot back and check the wiring in the hinge of the door. They may be broken.

take it to your dealer and tell them the problem they should be able to fix/relpace the seat belt

anyone have answer for this problem??? i have 05 grand cherokee with same issue.

open its cover to releas it
it may have grime or a coin in it

For the seat bottom, you just need to pull it up. The seat backs would have to be unbolted.

you have to get to the seat anchor bolt and remove it to take the tension off the seat belt and fold the seat up then it should come loose and you can pun the bold back in
