Fuel injector First I want to say thank you, so far all the info you have given he have been very helpful. I have one more question, my husband is somewhat a little knowledgable about cars and he is trying to get to the fuel injector and he says he kinda understands where you are saying the fuel injectors are located but to be sure he is doing the right thing he wants to know is there anyway maybe you can send me a diaphram for what he needs to be taking off and where it is located or can you give me a website to find it.

Im not entirely sure where to find a giagram on the internet. the best suggestion i can think to give you would be to buy a haynes manual from an auto parts store. the manual will give you step by step instructions on how to locate and remove them. and the manual only costs about $15 or so.
if this isnt an option, then ,let me know and i will do some digging to see what i can find

How will the change of fuel injectors help with engine performance and what engine parts are affected

Andre, changing fuel injectors that are not faulty, damaged, leaking, etc. may not improve any performance. have checked and diagnosed by a good technician.

Fuel injectors not spraying

Bad fuel pump or relay to fuel pump or blown fuse to Main Relay or bad relay, could cause no spray from injectors.
Hope this helps.

I would suggest after what you have replaced yourself, so far, that you
seek professional help.
At least ,you would need wiring diagrams & some experience testing
those type of possible electrical issues

What are the advantages of using an injector car compared to carburettors? Is the injector better than carburettor?

Hi,
Injectors are better!
Fuel injected engine is..........
  • More fuel efficient
  • Don't need to mix air & fuel manually.
  • Works in any altitude.
  • Faster distribution of air/fuel to the combustion.
  • Maintenance free( multiple fuel filters ).
Now a days all cars are electronically controlled fuel injectors, 50 years ago they use mechanical ijnectors.
Info on carb uses are other way around of the injectors.
More info will be in this site

Hope FixYa helped you out!

My 2000 intrepid will no start. My husband has recently replaced with a new alternator. The car ran fort the 2 days. After i shut it off it then never started back. My husband then replaced the fuel pump...

Check injectors for operation of solenoids. Put long screwdriver on injector and hold ear to screwdriver while someone cranks engine. If injector clicks once every 2 revolutions, injectors are working. If working, check fuel pressure at rail. If low, replace fuel pressure regulator (get back to me for instructions).

If injectors not clicking, the powertrain control module is not sending signals to the injectors. This could be caused by the camshaft position sensor or the PCM itself.

I have a 2006 Pontiac Montana and when I put gas in, It stalls. Then I give it a little gas and it runs. My husband thinks it the starter??????Tune up? Fuel Pump?? Thank you Mrs. C.

Hi Mrs. C
the starter is NOT the problem the starter only cranks the engine has nothing to do once its running
it could need a TUNE UP depending on the mileage
If this was my vehicle i would replace the fuel filter and check the fuel pressure before you spend money on replacing the fuel pump
and FLUSH the FUEL INJECTORS
hope this helps

I have a 93 volvo 850, it starts fine, but going down the road it chugs and tries to stall, I have to keep my foot on gas and brake to keep it from stalling at stops..My Husband replaced the fuel filter...

It definitely sound like a fuel starvation problem. Your hubby is on the right course by changing out the fuel filter. If the injectors are not getting enough fuel pressure from the fuel pump it could cause the condition you discribed. A new pump is fairly pricey but you could get one at a junk yard for far less.

THE FUEL PUMP IS BAD.

if your losing fuel pressure after the pump runs the drain back valve in the pump has failed.

and i doubt that you are seeing enough fuel pressure to run a vortec engine.

low fuel pressure equals a non running vortec
