how long has it been since a tune-up was done. you may have bad wires, dirty fuel filter, dirty throttle plate that needs cleaning. you don`t say if the check engine light has been on, check for codes.
Hi, if an engine cranks but refuses to start, it lacks ignition, fuel or compression.
When the engine cranks normally but won't start, you need to check ignition, fuel and compression.
Ignition is easy enough to check with a spark tester or by positioning a plug wire near a good ground. No spark? The most likely causes would be a failed ignition module, distributor pickup or crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.
U almost replace everything! u forgot to check the ENGiNE SENSORS! Checking these accurately, u must go to ur nearest dealer to SCAN ur ECU to find FAULTS in those sensors. Thats much cheaper than buying things that didn't really help ur car performance!
Hope that might help u out!
if it was as simple as cutting one wire, the car thieves would only steal dodge caravans.....it is not a simple job as the computer has most of the sensors hardwired into it.....please get hold of a wiring diagram and see for yourself.
in a couple of years older model there is a complex cable system inside the door under tension .. it is operated by a pulley on an electric motor .. the cable terminates in a plastic part (for some unholy reason) that plastic part breaks if window forces gets too high . as when iced shut .. when the plastic part breaks the cable becomes a tangled mess .. a new cable assembly is fairly expensive and labor is even more but replacing the cable is not easy .. you have to figure out how to route it and even with a diagram its not easy .. the first one i did took 4 hours .. second one only 30 min .. if the cable is damaged then the motor might still work .. you can hear it making noise whe you turn it on .. but it just doesn't do anything .. if the motor doesn't run at all (not even click) then you could have an electrical problem or bad motor .. your 2000 model may have improved on that design but probably not .. if you take off the door padding then if you see a mess of cables in the door all tangled up then thats it ... if the cable is damaged then you will likely be able to force the window down since nothing but friction is holding it up .. but you might not be able to close it again if you do that ...
