2001 Firebird 3.8 misfires

My 2001 Pontiac Firebird developed a problem a few weeks ago. It began running real sluggish and when checked it said cylinder 3 misfire. I changed the plugs, wires and coil packs and still get either cylinder 3 or 5 misfire. What's next?

I have a 1999 Pontiac Firebird 3.8 pulling a p300 mutiple misfire code. Changed plugs, wires, coil packs, fuel injectors, and lifters. What should I do now? It's been in the shop for over 3 weeks and they can't even figure it out. Does anyone have any advice? Please help!

Took ours to shop with same problems, turned out no compression in #2 cylinder caused the missfire code.

Check your alternator see if you have a drop in voltage on your tack, then it is the problem.I too was a victim of high price tune up and still had a problem with a misfire.and cover your coil pack with a piece of rubber water run of onto your power pack .Another thing is to use a silicone spray on all wires.

Misfire is caused by one of three things. Spark, Fuel or Air. Here's a seperate post that will get you started in looking in the places-> http://www.fixya.com/cars/t4220629-oldsmobile_alero_misfires

Cheapest place to start... CD2 Oil Detergent. See other post for instructions.
