Intermittent starting problems with 2005 Chevy Colorado pickup...

I have a co-worker friend who has a 2005 Chevy Colorado pickup truck. She is experiencing an intermittent problem with starting the pickup. On some mornings, she says the engine will just turn over and over, but won't ever fire and start. Another mechanic friend thought it might be one of the relays, and so she changed it out, but still is having problems sometimes. It seems there is no rhyme or reason to the engine not starting, or firing. Could this be a bad starter problem, and perhaps have nothing to do with the relays or fuses? This is really annoying to her... she is a single mom and does not have a lot of time (or money) to be wasting on trying to track down the root of the problem. Just trying to narrow it down for her...

I have the same problem, i bought the truck in México, but 2005 model is manufactured in USA.

The engine doesn´t start, but i´ve noticed that it need exactly 10 minutes to start as if nothig happened. it seems like if there´s no gas, but it happens whit full, half or low gas in the tank. it happens ocasionally and if you lock the truck with the control, sometimes need to wait for another ten minutes.

In a way I'm glad to hear other people have had the same problem. I did notice that after 10 minutes it starts with no problem. I don't know what else it would be but the security system. Thanks for the info.

I've had this problem for about a year now. When this happens, turn key to acc position and leave it for 10 minutes until the pass-lock light either stops blinking or goes out. Then turn off key and restart your truck. I have seen somewhere that if you do this 3 times consecutively, it will re-program the "brain" but I have not tried this yet. Good luck!

My 2005 Chevy Malibu warning light has come on for my power steering and the wheel is difficult to turn. What is the estimated cost to repair?

Good chance you are just low on steering fluid and a $3 can will take care of your problems. If you are not mechanically inclined find a friend or co-worker who can check the fluid for you. If the fluid is not the problem (but 95% chance it is) then there really isn't a way to estimate the cost until the cause is diagnosed.

Sounds like water getting in one of the connectors. You will need to see what fault code is in there when the light comes on, then look at that sensor.
