Converting to a single turbo would be pointless. Anything can be done, but you would have to make all-new ducting. If your car has emission control regulated by your goverment, what you want to do would violate the laws. If you used one of your same turbos, there would be a noticeable drop in power. If you planned to replace your two turbos with one that is larger, this may cause a serious turbo-lag.

SOURCE: just wondering if it possible to make the twin

The turbos are two different types. One is designed to start a bit lower in the revs and the other to come in when the revs are higher. Its called compounding boost. It can be changed but to put it on a sinlgle turbo would cost a fair bit.If you hot up the ones you have by recalibrating them and exhaust, you do get VERY big gains. The car is more driveable and you can get big boosts in power if the tuner knows what he is doing. Some really big horsepower units come from triple compounding turbos and the torque levels are extremely high.Hope this helps

Just wondering if it possible to make the twin turbos on a 2002 legacy gt work at the same time like a single turbo instead of converting it to single turbo

Timing diagram

You have Nissan's VG30DE engine in your car. If you go to www.ttzd.com (Twin Turbo Z's of Dallas), you'll find Tech articles for the 300ZX (the non-turbo version is the same engine that you have). One of the articles is the full timing belt service job. I believe it was done on a twin turbo, but for purposes of the timing system, the turbo and non-turbo are the same. It'll give you all the info, pictures, tool lists, and step by step instructions that you could want or need.
