Engine management light

I own a volvo S40 T2 2000 model, the car has been servised by a volvo dealership, they are unable to get the engine management light to stay off.

Please assist

My car volvo s40 2000 had problem with engine managment light. I took it to the garage & they did dignostic check and the problem was(reset the camshaft valve)he gave me the part nomber and i put new part in ad problem solved.i do not know the name of part but this part is next to the spark plugs on right hand side,its got 4 bullts and the wire pluged in to it. It might be not problem with your car becaus macanic told me that this is not the common foult with s40, with yor car it may be sensor. good luck

Take it to your Volvo dealership or a Ford garage, it's a Mondeo after all) for service.

Apparently the lit lamda warning light means there is a problem with the emissions system, indicating that the engine management system is no longer able to control the fuel mixture. It means you need to take your Volvo in for service.

Volvo s40 timing

Ignition timing is controlled by the engine management computer and is not adjustable. Valve timing is set at a fixed position when the timing belt is replaced and not adjustable.

It is sort of like the check engine light for the 2000 Volvo S40 and other Volvo Models. One of your sensors has most likely failed. You will need to connect and electronic tester to get the code to determine which component is faulty. Thanks for using Fixya.

It is probably safe to drive, but is also likely to be running in 'limp-in' mode which, at minimum, will be burning more fuel. Take the car to Autozone or a similar business for a free scan of the computer. Take care of any problems that will be disclosed and then have them erase the light. Hope this helps!
