Remove the right side wheel
seperate the ball joint
you may have to remove the stablizer bar link
remove the drive axle nut 32mm or 1 5/16
slide the front of the axle back through the hub bearing
then pop the axle out of the transmission
then install your new axle and reassemble

1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3.8 supercharge, Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E rebuilt 2 years ago. Drove to work (26 miles) and all was fine, got in to leave and put gear selector in drive or 1st and nothing...

Your transmission for the GTP should be the 4T65-HD. If in fact it is not then that could very well be the problem. The 4T65-E is for the other 3.8L naturally aspirated models.

New transmission

The best place you'll ever find parts and service for the GTP is www.zzperformance.com

They have their headquarters garage and then several authorized satellite locations in a few states. They make their living on working only with the GTP exclusively.
