Question about 2001 Dodge Caravan

1 Answer

What's the trick to remove the door panel on 2001 DODGE CARAVAN. Have removed all screws but couldn't get it to budge. I don't want to break the clip supports on the panel. Saw many examples on YouTube but none for 2001 Caravans. Do I just pull harder????

I have a 2001 Dodge Caravan, and the passenger's side window was open by it self to the end and can't close again..

Sounds like the cable snapped on your window regulator. Not to hard to fix. Take door panel off. Access area lets you get a hold of the window, so push it closed and duct tape it so it does not fall. Next, there is a rail with 2 screws at the top and 1 at the bottom. Remove them. The motor is held by 3 bolts. Remove them then remove the regulator. By the way, your window is probably attached to the sill that the rail raises and lowers. Most have clips that you pull off with needle nose pliers. Good luck.

How do you remove the instrument cluster from a 96 dodge caravan?

Some early model dodge caravan have an anti-tamper cord affixed at the back. I haven't found a way to get around it. The typical method of removal is to remove the lower colored panel ( 3 screws) , the side ventilation grill that interconnects with the door (two screws), two screws underneath the parking brake release handle, and two screws that hold the plastic panel in front of the instrument cluster and the 3 or 4 screws holding the entire plastic surround that also holds the headlamp controls. There really aren't many screws... it's actually quite easy. Everything pops off... having your key handy will make it easier by starting the van with the parking brake on to aid in removing the plastic panel by placing the van into neutral (N) and one screw of the 4 that secure the gauge. Reach around with your left hand and use your left fingernail or small screw driver in your right hand to gently pry the connector flap out slightly to slide the connector off. Touch a low watt soldering iron onto the reverse side of the circuit board after removing it from the gauge cluster and flipping it over on the pin solder points to re-solder them.

How to remove inner door panel on a 1999 dodge caravan

Almost all door panels are attached by:
SMALL PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS- these are found all around the door panel. They are normally hidden by; small plastic grommets (round, flat plastic push tabs used to cover and make it look pretty!)
-remove with flat head screwdriver or your nails at-own risk,
-easily popped off by squeezing outer edges inwards releasing the male part on the speaker cover from the slot on the door panel
THE RUBBER OR PLASTIC COVER- found on the inner side of the door handle
-this cover may not be there for your model and you may see the screw or the grommet. If not, remove cover with flat head screw driver or needle nose plyers, then remove screw/s

1)check for grommets if screw/s are not in plain sight)- plastic push tabs (flat head and round about a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch in diameter, normally matches the car door panel and fits flush with the panel as well so look closely! You will need a flat head screw driver for this part or try your nails at own risk.),

2) Once you have removed all the screws and or push tabs shake the panel to pin point any remaining screws or tabs. Some times there are slots in the door frame that join with the male part located on the inner side (touches the door) of the plastic panel.

good luck!

I have a 2001 Dodge Caravan. This back door on the drivers side will not unlock. It started this winter and we thought the lock was frozen, but now that it is 65 out the door will still not unlock. What...

you will have to pull the inner panel off the door to look inside the panels to inspect the door latch to see if it may be seized or the lock mechanism is not moving due to broken parts,if the lock is not moving far enough you can reach in and manually unlock it.if the latch is seized you can spray it with penetrating oil and operate the release handle and try to force the latch open with a screw driver or something to open it.once open you can remove the latch and soak it in oil to try and free it up if not then just replace it.

How do I remove the passenger side power mirror on 98 caravan?

If you're lucky, on the inside of the door, will be a triangular panel right behind the mirror that you can pop off. If you're not as lucky and it's one piece or the panel is blocked by the door panel, you'll need to remove the door panel to change it.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws (these screws may be covered by filler pieces or may be visible, or they may require you pry a plastic piece off that covers the screws) that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can remove the bolts holding the mirror onto the door
