2004 Nissan Maxima

04 Nissan Maxima won't turn over to start engine. Battery is fully charged, lights come on, loud noise coming from the rear when the key is in the on position. Tried starting it in park and neutral. Acts like it is not getting any electricity.

My 2004 Maxima has started having problems starting. It has a new battery and all of the lights come on when I try to start it. It makes a noise like it is trying to start but does not.

If I let it sit all day, it will start in the afternoon. I had it towed to the dealer and it started when the car got there. They could find no problem. Another time I drove it to the dealer for them to start in the morning, but the problem did not happen that day.

I am frustrated and do not know if my car will start in the morning. I need the car to be dependable.

It is a cable that links you transmision to the dashboard
i am not sure what the name of the cable is
but if you hold the start position and switch the gears to neutral it will start.

Check the fuse that is right next to the battery terminal.

Woops::This sound like the cam belt is broken, also sounds like an expensive job, how old is the car and how often is it serviced? What is the cars value against the cost of repairs (new engine etc.) think about it.

How do you know if the starter on 2009 nissan maxima

If it is working correctly it will start the car.

If it is not working correctly, you may hear it spin, you may hear it engage and turn the engine over a few times and then spin unladed, or you may hear nothing.

If you hear nothing and know the battery is fully charged, check to see if any fuses have blown or wires loose.

If starter is loose it will make a great deal of noise.

My Lexus RX330 will not start the battery has been replace and the lights on the dash come on but the engine does nothing. I turn the key and nothing like it's completely dead.

Make sure the connections are good at the battery and starter. Make sure the new battery is fully charged. It should read at least 13-14 volts. Just because lights come on doesn't mean the connection is good enough to start the engine nor does it mean there is enough charge to start the engine. The only other thing it would likely be is the starter solenoid itself. Kind of doubt it on an '04 Lex though.

My 1995 Nissan Maxima wont start. I smell gas.

Sounds like a bad fuel pump, check if the smell comes under the rear wheels and also check for a loud humming noise when the key is turned to on. Those are signs of a bad fuel pump.

My 04 nissan maxima has this loud ticking noise when i start it as i drive it it stops

i have the same problem on a customers car
its only when it sits for like 30 mins
and its coming from the rear head i can't hear it right by the chain cover so it might be
1. too thin of oil
2.oil starvation
3. variable valve timing solenoid sticking and when oil pressure rises it works normal.
4. or chain slap but then id figure the tensioner is bad....
but it goes away so its not a potential.. cuz if it was the noise would be there regardless.
i haven't fixed the car yet im gonna look at it tonite.

Nissan Micra 04. The central locking is making a noise

Hi there, this is a very common fault, what ever side door the noise is coming from you need to replace the door actuator to cure the noise, Ive done loads of these, not sure how much it is though, hope this helps.
