    when starting out and going upgrade it hesitats as i accelerate, after a short distance it will accelerate as it is suppose to.

Try replacing the Air Flow Sensor, it's the switch looking thing, to the right of the air filter box; I think it runs about $6-$10s. Good luck.

What is the specific ignition control module number for a 4-cylinder, 2.3 liter Ford Ranger?


I recommened only the factory part for this. You can buy it from most full service part stores and not just the Ford dealer. The part is
MOTORCRAFT Part # DY959 [ICM] (Ignition control module) $176.79
You can also mail order it from a site I use called rockauto.com the price given above is from that site.

FreshAir Intake Hose
Clogged or Damaged FreshAir Intake Hose. 3 Inspect Throttle Position Sensor Faulty or Incorrectly Connected Throttle Position Sensor. 4 Inspect Fuel Filter Clogged or Dirty Fuel Filter. 7 Inspect Fuel Injector Dirty or Worn Fuel Injectors.

O reading for O2 sensors on 98 Ranger XLT


Yes the 98 ranger has 3 02 sensors,they are located in the exhaust system under vehicle,2 of them
are in front of the cataletic converter and 1 behind it.I replaced mine ,reset the codes and the check
engine light still comes on?
