If its turning over but no spark it is more than likely the electronic capacitor discharge system cds unit which depending on year model cannot be repaired and replacement are expensive and hard to find if the wiring on the distributor touches anything metal with ignition on its shorts out the cds unit they are easy to replace only one wiring plug finding one at less than 400.00 second hand is another thing if buying a second hand cds unit insure that it is working before handing over any money

ps word of warning these cds units put out an amazing amount of volts around 30,000 be extremely careful where you put you hands whilst engine is running the only sure way to test if unit working or not is to test the unit on the same sort of car i have been sold repacements that have not worked beware

look in fuel filter you are looking for metal fillings. i suspect you have a broken high rail pressure pump. if all ok.
check the pump to see if bosch or siemens.
if bosch can you hear a wine noise for 3 seconds, this is a lift pump.
if ok i suspect a faulty injector, this stick open.
poss the fuel regulator.
crank shaft sensor.
