Question about 1996 Ford Taurus

1 Answer

Motor blower I have a 96 ford taurus 3.0 DOHC, lately my blower motor won't work on any setting, several times when I would turn the motor on nothing happened, then I would hit a bump and it would come on, now it doesn't even do that. Could it possibly be a relay which I have no idea where to find, their is no fuse for blower motor in either fuse panel under hood or dash. I put a voltage meter on the leads going to the blower motor switch, I am not getting any voltage reading at all. Any assistance, I would be very greatful.

Tap the blower motor if it comes on you need a new motor, or there is a bad wire to the motor or rehostat, if you can take out the motor and run 12v to it from yur batt then you will know if it is the motor

When I turn on the heat or AC in my 2001 ford taurus, nothing comes out. The blower motor doesn't turn on.

Jeremy is right but it will be a lot easier it you remove the glovebox door and inner pocket to get to the plug for the blower motor

Good Luck!

2004 focus 80,000 miles/6 weeks ago, using ac with blower on high, blower gradually shut off and car produced bad smell. Drove home with ac off, blower off, had car checked and nothing found. Now it's...

The 'whirring' sound from the blower motor could be a dry bearing or damaged armature (part of blower motor that the brushes ride on), or just wore brushes. The smell could be the motor winding wires burning due to blower motor bogging down and overheating. You can replace blower motor with new or salvaged one.

I would like to know where the blower motor is in a 1999 taurus.(6 cyl. 3.0 DOHC) It works, but cuts in and out. Made some squeeling noises in the past. Thank you.

I hope you are ready for this one. The entire dash has to be removed to replace the blower motor. It one of Fords better ideas if you know what I mean. Its not a job for the faint of heart. It is a pain. Once the dash is removed, it is very easy to get to. I hope this is helpful.
