For car not changing gears it can be shifter assembly issue, or it can also be transmission issue. Get the shifter assembly inspected with ignition OFF.

Slipping out of gear

check fluid levels add if low..retry the car and see also if the fluid is brown and dirty when you check it..change the fluid and filter in the trans mission and it should work ok also look at any vacuum lines that run down to the transmission see if they are good..

1995 lincoln occasionally has problems getting in gear to go. Seems like it is stuck in neutral. Lasts a few seconds then it gets into gear and goes.

SEEMS LIKE TRANSMISSION FLUID LOW.TRANSMISSION SLIPPING TRYING TO GO IN DRIVE.CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL. IF LOW ADD FLUID UNTIL YOU REACH FULL MARK ON TRANSMISSION DIP STICK. WITH ENGINE RUNNING A IN OPERATING TEMPERATURE.IF FLUID LEVEL OKAY.CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER IF YOU HAVE NOT CHANGED IN A LONG WHILE.A DIRTY STOPPED UP FILTER WILL CAUSE TRANSMISSION TO SLIP.CANT PICK UP FLUID.

When the transmisson shifts it drags out in the first two gears sometimes. After it shifts into the other gears they are ok.It's just the two lower gears.

check tranny fluid level. Maybe is time for a service, (change of fluid and filter)????

After the above items are OK, add a quart of RISLONE Transmission Stop Slip and Sealant (AutoZone $12) to the transmission fluid. This stuff is great and hopefully it will fix your problem.

Transmission slipping

You have a problem with the bands in the transmission. They will need to be adjusted to correct the problem. Also have the transmission filter changed with new transmission fluid. Check the fluid level in transmission first,if low add fluid and test drive. If its the same as before you will need to go to a transmission place to have the bands adjusted to correct the problem. Hope this will help you.

Tramisionn fluid is brown, need to put new tramission fluid in,where is plug to let the fluid out

Unfortunately there's no drain plug or bolt for the trans fluid, you'll need to buy a trans carter replacement kit to do that procedure since the carter has to be removed completely. It's recommended to change the trans filter also and cleaning the trans magnet too. My advise would be to take it to a trans professional, but remember that if your trans has no problem (slipping gears, squeaking, etc) just ask for the described service otherwise they must likely will perform a trans tune up which will be a lot more expensive. Good luck

Tramission is dumping fluid , the rear is not leaking, or the front seal is not leaking Sooo!what could the problem be?

it could be coming up the dip stick pipe? if the box is getting over heated becouse the oil cooler is blocked then the gear oil will boil up and in time it will cook your gear box up to the point it wont work any more
if your driving it very hard and its slipping a bit it will get very hot the oil boils away,,, as smoke!

Is there a drain plug on the tramission of a 1993 toyota car?

You loosen the oil pan bolts leaving the corner bolts in place till last. use a catch pan and drop one corner first and drain most of the oil prior to removing the rest of the bolts. Remove pan and clean it before reinstall... also the filter is a good idea to replace as well.

4x4 slips shiftin gears starting and stopping

you might already know but when shifting into 4wd you can shift into 4hi while driving as long as the tires,(all four) are travelling the same speed. you can't shift into 4wd if you are spinning. 4 low you have to completely stop. When you are in 4 low as you know the power of vehicle is greatly increased due to gear reduction. so if you are seeing slipping symptoms, you might want to change transmission filter. It might not be much help to you but it might prevent problems down the road. also when changing fluid be sure to put mopar transmission fluid for replacement on jeep. like gm calls for dexron. the transfer case on dodge and jeeps also takes transmission fluid. I had to replace a t-case on my friends dakota that was making a grinding noise and it turns out a seal had leaked some fluid out and burnt up some bearings. pretty expensive. they are chain driven. hope I didnt get too carried away, because I am not a transmission expert but I just wanted to share what I did know with you.
