Question about Buick Century

1 Answer

The car has just developed sporadic stalling which has happened 3 times. Each time it has happen the car has had the A/C on and was decelerating off of a highway. The car just shut down. I put it in neutral shut off the A/C and the car starts right up and runs OK. The car is well tuned however I have not changed the fuel filter(s). It is a 1993 Buick Century 3.3 with 140K. Should I start with changing the filters?

At low speed from deceleration or accelerating from a stop the car runs roughly and has stalled several times. 2002 3.8L 85 k miles auto trans. My code scanner shows no faults. No check engine light.

Sounds like a faulty cam sensor. ford is known for this to happen. This does not show up because it is a mechanically working peice. get it checked and replaced it necessary.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee stalling and not starting

Since you've replaced many of the usual suspects (fuel pump etc.) you might want to look into testing or simply replacing the crankshaft position sensor or the camshaft position sensor. If you intermittently lose one the these signals it would cause the problem you describe.

Jetta v6 lurching and almost stalling

When something in the car's faulty and a sensor picks it up and tells the computer, the computer will cause the car to do exactly that. Could be anything, from a damaged air intake sensor to the breaks.

Have your car connected to a computer and let the computer do the talking for you.
