Question about 2000 Ford Ranger SuperCab
2000 ford ranger
2X2 3.0L e85 automatic
symptoms without overdrive blinking
usually hard shifting from 1st to 2nd
if I accelerate fast from stop the shift
from 1st to 2nd is delayed to 25mph and hard
if I accelerate slowly from stop the
shift from 1st to 2nd is at 18mph and softer
once or twice the light has started when
I was already in third
I am using a ScanGauge to help diagnose problem it will gear ratio ,linepressure, slip, and temperature overdrive light start blinking when accelerating from 1st to 2nd the line pressure lpc sticks at 51psi before light I can see it vary with acceleration looking at transmission temperature it seems to run between 160 to 175 when running hot the slip and gear ratios don't seems to be effected by light blinking when light is blinking I have low torque in 1st and 2ndbut shifts are smooth overdrive still functions when light is blinking
The blinking overdrive button is telling u that a serious fault has occurred in the electronic controls or a mechanical fault such as excess slippage is occurring.
