I am no expert in this, but I am going to guess that there is one or more sensors that determine when to inflate or deflate your air shocks - you may have thrown the system out of whack by not shutting off the system first. You may have to check with the dealer to see if there is a way you can re-calibrate the sensors to the shocks
My Buick had this problem and we found the pump was worn out. It just would not blow up when trying to run. They wanted a lot of money to replace it and the shocks.so I bought a kit that the air line hooks underneath the license plate Now about once every three months I use my air compressor to pump it up. My old air shocks lost air all the time. My new air shocks stay blowed up for over three months.
You have a pin hole between the compressor and the rear shocks/strut assembly's,or the compressor is not operating properly. Is the check engine light on? If so has the codes been checked ,and what is the code? To check the vaccum lines use soapy water ,The rearend is supposed to squat down during HWY. driving to be more aero dynamically sound. .
Hello! The rear suspension on this vehicle is air inflated. There are diaphrams that the level ride system uses to inflate rear shocks to aid in the comfort of the vehicles ride and handling. either an air line has rurtured, came off the connection at rear shock,or the diaphram itself has ruptured. Hope this information was helpful!
yes disconnect small plastic air line on compressor under wiper bottle turn key on to open air solenoids put compressor air nozzle into line should inflate rear bags for awhile until they leak off good luck
Check rear lines & fittings for a leak, or perhaps a dump valve stuck open. Should be able to hear it, but if not, try spraying along lines & fittings with a little dish soap & water in a spray bottle. The bubbles will find it for you.
It sounds to me like your compressor got killed. What probably happened is that the airbag got a hole or tiny crack in it so the compressor has to work extra hard because it is like blowing up a balloon with a hole in it. Therefor the airbag killed the compressor. I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at our conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. I added the link below so you can check it out. http://www.strutmasters.com/lincoln-suspension-parts-s/1.htm
I hope I was of some help
Good Luck!!!
I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at the conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. Airbags and compressors are constantly having to be replaced. Also something alot of people don't know is that theses air suspensions are not meant to be in temperatures above 90 Degrees or below 40 Degrees. That is most of the world. The temperature will cause you to replace alot of bags. and typically when your replacing a bag you are going to have to replace the compressor to because the bag had a hole or small crack in it causing the compressor to over work and it will die. I posted the link below so you can take a look
