I noted on my 2000 Kia Sephia, with 40,000 miles, that after starting it up, it began chugging (missing) and check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and they wanted $130 to change plugs and spark plug wires. I felt this was unacceptable so looked into the problem myself. Spent $20 for four NGK platinum plugs and $20 for aftermarket (2 plug wire set). Runs fine now except never was happy with the fuel economy. Kia recommends changing plugs and wires at 30,000miles, which I though was kind of premature, but after looking at the plug wire tubes, I understand why. Found a pin hole burnt through the tube shorting the spark to ground. Good thing it wasn't one of the two coil/plug combination part. That could have cost me. I mention this because owners with similar problems might want to check the sparkplug tubes first.
Tom from Pensacola, Florida i have a kia sephia 2000 and the check engine is blinking while driving, i already replace coil pack, spark plug and fuel injector but still blinking while driving

dear Sir,I've Kia sefia 2001 automatic transmission, and the is:the "D" drive doesn't move while the car stopped if I need to move forward, it's like when you put the gear on neutral, then I've to put the gear to gear no.2 and then it will move on. after 20-40km shift the gear to "D" drive it will picks-up and automatically changes the gear.now another thing is when you open the bonnet and look at the accelerator adjustment exactly behind it there are two sockets, if you remove one of the sockets the "D" drive can move ok, in another word the car can be moved ok but it won't automatically change the gear it's like stacked on gear number 3. opposite what I explain above.hope above is clear explained and understandableany questions please let me knowThanks & Regards,Your customer Anwar AljabryEmail address: anwar_aljabry@yahoo.com
