If you're talking about the engine air filter, there are about 6 T-20 screws at the top of the filter housing(which is the rectangular shaped box to the right of the mercedes benz engine cover(if your standing in front of the vehicle)just unscrew those and pull the cover up,there might the one screw holding the ecu connecter in place at the right rear of the housing, just unscew it and pull the connecters out(engine off of course)and pull the cover up,theres the engine air filter, just pop it out and pop it the new one,if you're asking about the cabin filter, the cover above the battery in the engine compartment, just unhook the 3 hook tabs and take the cover out, theres the cabin filter, pop it out and pop the new one in,hope this helps

The cabin filter on my Nissan Navara D40 dual cab is due for replacing and I need to know where it is located

1. Open the glove box.
2. Depress the tabs located on the inside of the glove-box so it swings out of the way.
3. Remove the 8mm bolt covering the air filter. Remove the filter cover and old filter if any (2 pieces)
4. The new air filters are marked with arrows (direction of air flow, should point down).
5. Insert first filter, push to the right. Insert second filter.
6. Replace filter cover and 8mm bolt.

Starter went out ,replaced, now it turns over but gets no fuel and wont start

When you removed the old starter and installed the new one, did you disconnect the battery? If not, you may have shorted something out. If you are positive you are not getting fuel to the injectors (carborator); turn your key to the on position just before starting it - and listen for the fuel pump to engage. If you do not hear the fuel pump, then you may need to replace it.
If you do hear it, then you may have a plugged fuel filter, or plugged injector(s). Even if only one is plugged, the car should still start, but would run poorly. Replace the filter first to see if it's the filter and for good measure replace the air filter - these two sorta go hand in hand as they air and fuel mixture is crucial for proper engine operation. Also, check to see if there is a secondary filter (fuel) in the engine compartment. If so, (this is an inline filter) replace it as well. This way you know that both fuel filters (if two) are good, as well as the airfilter. Also, if the old air filter looks torn, ripped, shredded, pull the air hose off the the throttle body (intake) and make sure it's not plugged. This will hinder the engine from starting - if the car has sat for a length of time, rats may have climbed inside it and ate through the air filter. When attempting to start, parts of this could be drawn into the throttle body or the air hose blocking sufficient air flow.
Last, if the fuel filter(s) and the airfilter do not make a differnence, and the fuel pump is engaging; it is possibly the fuel pump relay, or the fuel pressure regulator.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Need instructions on how to take out old air filter and replace with new filter?

If you have the v6, you just remove the duct from your throttle body to the air box. The duct is held in with clamps that just need to be unscrewed. The air box is next to your battery. Once the duct is out of the way, you can remove the air box cover and the air filter is inside. Reverse for installation.
Most auto stores will have your air filter for around $15.
I hope this helps, please let me know if I can further assist you.

There are no tools required to replace the air filter. On your car, the air filter compartment has several clamps that can be pulled up by hand. Once the clamps are popped up, remove the cover and replace the air filter (pleated side down). Simply close the cover and push the clamps back into place and you're done!

Car spitters and sputters and acts like it wants to die

Hi
This is due to a couple of reasons:
  1. Spark Plugs need replacing due to high mileage and may not have been replaced.
  2. Insufficient fuel which could be caused from a blocked fuel filter.
  3. Blocked air filter which is causing the engine to starve of air.
The best solution is get a good service which will replace spark plugs, fuel an air filters. as well as oil.
If the problem still persist after this then you'll need to look further into the problem...hope this helps, let me know how you get on.
