It means the cd laser lens is dirty. clean it and it should go away. You will probably have to remove the radio or get a disc cleaner.

E20 on cd player when I insert a cd into the player it reads E20...and just played a cd ...took it out and started another, then tried others and they all read E20

your cd player is unable to read the discs. may want to try some of the computer cleaner spray/ duster. spray the computer duster into the cd slot and it may clean the laser to let it work again.

In the CD player show E20,and don't playe the CD

This happened to mine a while back - run a cleaning disc thru it. The error pertains to the laser lens which is probably just dirty and can't read the disc. Good luck!

Have an error code "e20" coming across my cd player when i try to play a cd...

E20 : Focus Error Cause(s): The CD player cannot focus on the disc or there is an internal focus problem. Correction(s): Try cleaning the disc or using a new disc. Make sure the disc is loaded correctly. The road could be too rough or there is too much humidity. I have an Error code 20 on my cd player in my 1995 Cutlass Supreme, i just bought the car and it has no book. help!

CD Errors
· E20 or CHECK CD : Cause(s): The CD player cannot focus on the disc or there is an internal focus problem. Correction(s): Try cleaning the disc or using a new disc. Make sure the disc is loaded correctly. The road could be too rough or there is too much humidity.

If your player is an AC Delco giving you the e20 error and only on your burnt discs the lens is probably not shot. It's just very dirty and can only read professional grade CDs. The remedy is to open the CD player and clean the disc with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol.

You will need a small adjustable wrench or ratchet set as well as a T-7 torx bit. You only need to remove the bottom of the player and the front piece in order to get to the CD player inside. Unscrewing other screws will just lead to having to more to reassemble. Once you get to the heart of the CD player you will need to release it by unscrewing the torx screws and then turning the player over and you will see the lens. Put some alcohol on a q tip and gently rub the lens a few times. then reverse all disassembly and put the player back together.

When you reinstall the CD player it should play all of your CDs

ALSO be sure to disconnect the negative in the battery before removing any electric devices to prevent short circuiting. And only reconnect it after you have reinstalled the CD player.

Pont cd reads e20 wont play tried cleaning

Cleaning with what-a cleaning CD? If so, she's most likely toast now, sorry :o(
E20 is a read error...could be bad media (ie CD format like from your PC). Otherwise, unplug the changer and plug back in.
Good Luck

I have a 97 Buick Regal and I get a E20 error message:cd player

It's just an error message. It stands for Error 20. There is no way to fix the problem. It only reads cd's that it wants. But if it does play a cd, then suddenly stops, and says E20 and spits the cd out, it's most likely because the cd player got too hot. My car does that all the time. And it won't play a lot of burned cd's. Hope this helped.

Error on cd

Could be a number of things. Some of the older GM CD players don't work too well in very cold weather. Also, some of the older CD players won't play burned CD's. If it's not cold weather related, and you're using a regular production store-bought CD, then it is most likely an internal radio problem. Cheapest solution is to buy a cheap aftermarket player.
