Transmission modulator

i think you need to have your transmition checked , your transmition may need a serious overhaul ,you may have electric soliniods inside transmition that are ceasing due to not having oil changes regularly , but first thing you may try , is to have filter replaced and oil and see if this helps , if you transmition filter is not reachable by removing oil pan , then gearbox will need to come out .

Where is the transmition filter located

Underneath your vehicle, you will find the transmission pan, underneath the transmission, and close by the engine oil pan. You will need to remove the transmission pan to access and change the transmission filter. You will then need to top it off with transmission fluid.

How do I top-up the transmition oil in my 1988 Mitsubishi Lancer. I can locate the dip-stick, but not the location for topping up the oil. Regards Ian

Use a funnel and put in the transmission oil through the transmission dipstick tube. Don't put too much. Insert transmission oil in increments just to be sure.

Where is the transmission oil marker

automatic or standard transmition? There is no dipstick for the automatic transmition they are considered dealer sevicable only. However there is a plug on the bottom of the trany that you take out and no fluid should come out unless there is too much in it (which is kinda imposible seen is this is where you fill it)After removing the correct plug you need to get fluid up the tube inside and over the edge to fill the trany. The correct amount is when you fill it and it starts comming out you need to stop puttting fluid in and let it level off and stop dripping. Then you have the correct level and put the plug back.

Fuel Filter Locate

go undernieth your truck and look up at the bottem of it. if it is anything like my truck you will see your drive shaft easily (the things that runs down teh middle of your car from the engine to the back wheels) the transmition pan will be beside that closer to the engine, it looks like abit of a square (odly shaped) and either black or rusty depending on age of truck. the transmition pan will have around 17-20ish bolts holding it up, unscrew this (get an oil pan for all the oil that will come out) and your transmition filter is just under there. hope that helped
