I have a 1991 Ford f150 pickup truck 5.0 liter automatic transmission the battery light stays on and my battery gauge is low i already put a new battery in and a new alternator and it still on and now when...

hey johnny it's definitely your starter relay it's locked inside and is sending power from the battery directly through the relay from one cable to the other straight to the battery that's why it continues to keep starting this happened to me and the starter motor just kept turning and my truck would not shut off

Where is the starter relay on a 93 Ford Escort

There is none. The battery is hooked directly up to the starter. The solenoid part of the starter transfers the heavy amperage.

Just bought a new starter for my 98 expedition hooked it up and the battery sparked so bad it almost melted the lead do I have the starter hooked up wrong or could I have a bad ground?

Yes definitely its starter not connected properly issue.

It can be faulty starter or there is loose connection from battery to starter. The starter assembly gets power from battery. Check voltages at starter wires and see if you are getting 12 volts or not. If not then its no power issue due to low battery volt or no connection between battery to starter.

How do I connect the wiers form the to the starter

First off, if you are unsure of which are ground wires. disconnect your battery then hook a test light to the positive on the battery, touch each of your wires if the test light lights up mark that wire as a ground. next is finding your ignition wire which should have a smaller eyelet than any of the others.everything else hooks to positive on the starter

1988 460 motorhome starting problem

When its hooked up, you should be able to put 12 volts on the little stud on the solenoid and it should start. One large stud will have 12 volts on it, so just jump it right there. Did you get the wires in the right place. The solenoid should have 1 large wire going down to the starter. Be sure the battery cables are clean and tight ( both ends) Check battery voltage when cranking, should go to 10-11 volts. Check voltage between negative terminal on battery and engine, should be ZERO when cranking. The solenoid has 2 large studs, make sure the battery positive wire and all the other wires are hooked to this stud, the other large stud should just have the wire going to the starter.

When I turn the key the engine turns over but then starts to click. I've tried to jump start the vehicle and it still has the same problem.

if your connections are all ok and the battery isn't VERY dead and you are using quality jumper cables ....you may have a bad starter motor.

My car dont star, i check my ligths and averything is ok, i listen under de motor a little click click i hit in the starter whit a screw

If ur getting a clicking noise when u attempt to start it sounds like the starter drive ingaging into the flywheel but the starter isn't turning. Check ur battery to make sure it is fully charged and get a load test to make sure it is ok. Next check the connettions to the battery. Ur Problem wasn't complete--if crossing terminals at the starter the engine turns over it is the starter soloid, if it just clicks it is the battery or connections

1994 ford tempo will not start only clicks

Hook your voltage tester to the battery, then have a helper try to start the car. Watch the voltage when you hear the click. If it drops much under 12v then odds are the battery is no good. Have it load tested at your local autoparts store

2000 ford truck starting problems

most likley the positive wire has corroded off the starter. look at the small red wire more closely, if theres alot of corosion, replace the wire (and starter if needed) if you dont see much corrosion give the wire a good tug just to see if it really is hooked up well. you should disconnect the batt. before doing any of this.hope this helps and good luck
