Question about 2003 Dodge Intrepid
I have a 2003 dodge intrepid 2.7 and i was driving on freeway and the car died out. I did run it low on fuel so I put gas treatment in did not work. So then I had fuel pump replaced still did not work. What it does is when you start it, it runs good in park and when you put in gear and try to give gas the car dies out. it is like when you give it gas it is not getting to the engine so therefore it dies out. Any help
I just went through the same issue with our 01 Intrepid. I am a 30 year ASE Certified Master Mechanic. Check the EGR Valve (located on the back of the block, passenger side). If it has any leaks, it can cause the problem you are experiencing. Also, if you have any surging during a "static" (in-park) idle, check the Idle Air Control Valve (IAC Valve) for carbon on the valve. Lastly, check your PCV Valve and the hose to the PCV. They tend to get very mushy and develop holes on the backside where you can't see them. Good Luck!

Possibly a bad fuel injector. sometimes when cars are ran completely out of gas, the pump will pull tiny particles out of the tank and will clog the injectors.
