you may need to get fault codes out airbag module to solve this dont and repeat dont mess with this unless you know what you are doing. they really do go BANG! and need to be properly disarmed before working on them my advice after being a jag tech fer 50 years is take to dealer or reputable tech even the minute current from a multimeter can set them off

the car you have is the jag x300 series the main probs with this car are the lambda sensors and/ or the catalysts and you will get high emissions. to help sort this out you need someone with ids or wds software to help to check the fault codes or monitor the live data the ign timing is controlled by the ecu lower rh A post! its not adjustable

The best thing to do is go to an exhaust specialist, who can check the catylitic converter and also the oxygen sensors. You will need to replace these items if they are at fault. Hope this helps

if it is displaying a security code on the face, you will need to call a jag dealer with the vin number handy to get the 4 digit code. than enter that code using the "preset" buttons

The code means the engine control module imobilisation function is active.
can you describe what the car is doing and after you scanned the code did you try to reset it?
If so and there is no difference it may be a dealer reset only and you may have a bad ecu (water ingress?)

yes go to auto store get a book on the vehicle will show you exactly where it is and it just a couple of screws

sounds like a fault with the hazard switch,i could be wrong and no doubt i will be proved so but i would look at this first as the wires pass through this switch after leaving the indicator switch,

I would first lift up the console inner box and make sure it is connected, if so then check the fuses.
There is a fuse diagram in the engine compartment on the right front inside the black plastic long compartment.
And you may not be able to get the phone connected anyway as it is problably the old analogue phone and most networks only support the digital.
