Question about Chevrolet Impala

1 Answer

Hello, I have a 2006 Chevy Impala LS with auto electric locks. All doors unlock except the rear driver side door is jammed. The lock clicks up and down, but the door will not move an inch. It doesn't appear that anything is caught in the door. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thank you.

Thank you for your suggestion. I am looking into that issue. However, ironically, the same issue just occured with the right rear door. Now neither one will budge. I'm beginning to think it is electrical or an issue with the child safety locks. Although neither door can be opened from inside or outside. Thanks again for your help.

It sounds like the locking mechanism inside the door might be either jammed or broken.

Keys locked in 2007 chevy impala

stick a straightened metal coat hanger in between the door and the vehicle and fish for the unlock button. this is made easier by prying the upper part of the door open slightly with something that wont scratch the paint like wood or plastic.

The rear doors probably dont come w accuators in them. Meaning that the rear doors alot of times don't have power options. If you are certain that your rear doors have factory power locks then I would say it's a wire somewhere...did you try a double click of the unlock button. My two door chevy truck unlocks the driver door with one click and the pass door requires a double click. Hope this helps !

That doesn't sound like a fuse problem to me. It sounds like you have a bulb out on your blinker or possible bad circuit board in your left rear tail light. The problem with your door locks is most likely a bad door lock motor.

NOTE: Anytime there is a blown fuse - it does no good to replace the fuse until the reason that it blew is corrected.

    Chevy Impala Door lock issue

Which is it, 98 Eclipse, or 06 Impala? Either way, your door lock actuator is stuck in the locked position either electrically or mechaically. The way to check this is to remove the door panel and unplug the actuator. If door lock can now be moved then you have an electrical problem (faulty door lock switch or faulty door lock module). If you still cannot unlock door then actuator is mechanically bad and must be replace (usually the case)

Power door locks won't unlock + tailgate won't open

your issue involves the master control switch panel on the drivers side and or the passenger side as well some how the contact inside the switch assembly has either shorted out or no longer makes contact for the unlock side of the circuit. replace the drivers side panel switchs it's either a series of switc hs or mostimes one sigle board of switchs. you are better off going to an auto parts store rather than a GM dealership this will save you quite a bit on cash on the parts. now as to the rear tailgate. if it is electronic controled and there is an issue with the master switch you can,t manually unlock it because of a safty issue built in the system. you can manually unlock the passenger compartment doors for thew same reasons of safety but doesn't apply to the tailgate. just replace the parts and this will take care of the problem

Jeep grand cherokee central locking system

If all the doors do not lock or unlock when using the passenger side switch, then the switch itself is probably bad.   If the passenger side switch locks or unlocks all the other doors except for its own, then the power lock solenoid inside the door is bad or jammed.  If it is jammed, try locking and unlocking the door manually while activating the switch to work its way free.
